Full description
This full-day combined snorkeling and lava caving adventure tour starts with pick up from Reykjavik. As the conditions in Iceland vary greatly between seasons, visit one of two different lava caves. As you explore the hidden world beneath one of Iceland‘s lava fields, enjoy the opportunity to discover first hand the marvels created by past volcanic activity. Accompanied by a certified guide, experience the wonders of the lava tube cave and hear all there is to know about the formation of the cave. Snorkeling in Silfra is your second adventure of this combo tour, although this can vary. Silfra fissure is one of Iceland’s best-kept secrets, an otherworldly scene that is famous for its heavenly shades of blue. Located in the heart of the historic site of Thingvellir National Park, the crystal-clear water gives you a feeling of being weightless as you float along with the lazy current. During your snorkeling adventure between the tectonic plates, benefit from the accompaniment of a certified snorkeling guide. All necessary gear is provided for this tour. Please note that you can rent a waterproof digital camera or purchase a waterproof disposable camera directly from the operator to snap unique photos during your black and blue adventure in Iceland that you can then share with your loved ones back home.

This does involve going back to Reykjavik to pick up new people for the second adventure. However, Peter, our tour guide was nice enough to drop us off at a bakery for lunch. The experiences were top notch and worth all the driving. It was a small group and simply a once in a life time experience. I’d definitely do it again….in winter next time!

Wear long sleeves and leggings and slip on water shoes covering legs and feet because you have to change outside. They will stay dry in the exposure and wet suits they give you. Also insist on under water photos - not just above water.Bring your own Mask and snorkel if possible. Otherwise it’s an exhilarating experience.

Amazing! They provided everything. The water was crystal clear and beautiful. But I have to say the best part we’re my guides. They were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely bring a tshirt and leggings for the water and warm clothes to change into after. The lava cave was very fun but the silfra is a MUST
