  • Silfra: Snorkeling with Underwater Photos Without Transport

    4. Silfra: Snorkeling with Underwater Photos Without Transport

Have an out-of-this-world adventure while drysuit snorkeling in Silfra rift, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Thingvellir National Park. The hidden natural wonder has 100 meters of underwater visibility with bright colors that make the experience almost unrealistic.

Stay dry underneath your drysuit or, for the more adventurous, choose the wetsuit to feel the natural cool waters.

Snorkel through the pure and clean waters of Silfra and end the tour in a lagoon often called "the real blue lagoon" because of the bright blue color of its water.

What a fabulous experience! Maria took time with us to get our dry suits on correctly and really explain the process. I highly recommend this activity

  • Snorkeling in Silfra Fissure - Small Group Adventure

    5. Snorkeling in Silfra Fissure - Small Group Adventure

Undergo a unique underwater experience by snorkeling in the Silfra fissure on a half-day tour from Reykjavik. Frequently rated as one of the world's top 10 dive sites, Silfra offers up to 100 m (300 ft) of underwater visibility.

Admire views of Iceland's stunning landscape as you ride from Reykjavik to the heart of Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site. Snorkel in this location for 1 hour with your guide, before returning to the warmth of the tour van and heading back to Reykjavik.

The cold waters melt off a glacier 50 km (30 miles) away, and make their way through lava fields to beautiful Thingvellir Lake.

Although the chilly waters are too cold to support much in the way of marine life, Iceland's Silfra crack runs down between the American and European continental plates a...

Fantastic experience! Beautiful, clear water, helpful guide, and lovely views all around. This was one of my favorite things we did in Iceland. I was very worried that my hands and feet were going to be too cold (I get Raynaud's), but actually while hands were quite cold, it wasn't as bad as I was expecting (I think partly because the dry suit keeps your body completely warm), and they warm you up quite quickly with hot cocoa afterwards. Very well worth doing--don't let the cold put you off!

  • From Reykjavik: Golden Circle and Northern Lights Combo

    10. From Reykjavik: Golden Circle and Northern Lights Combo

Depart Reykjavik to experience the geothermal landscapes of Iceland's legendary Golden Circle. See boiling water spout from the earth at the great geysers of Geysir and Strokkur in the Haukadalur Valley. Experience the dramatic cascades of Gullfoss waterfall, fed by the glacial waters of the Hvítá River. Get different views of the impressive water as it plunges into a 32-meter deep crevice. Reconnect with nature in Þingvellir National Park, and discover where the tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia are pulling apart. Return to Reykjavík for a few hours at leisure before your evening Northern Lights tour. Head back out after dark to look for the dancing lights in the night sky. Also known as the Aurora Borealis, the natural phenomenon is caused by the interaction of particles from the sun with the upper atmosphere near the North Pole.

Circle was really nice. Northern lights was a horror. Go to same place each time. Guides get out and hang out with eachother. Do not work with people and help them look or give help. Dont try a different place if area is dead. Chance of seeing even on a good night 1% with them. Circle trip was awesome as well as guides and bus

We all were collected right on time in a comfortable bus. Peter or guide took wonderful care of us, and snapped loads of photos during our excursion. The gear provided in addition to my smart wool base layer kept me warmer than I expected, which allowed me to focus all my attention on the beautiful and unique scenery. The cup of hot chocolate and biscuits after we returned to base was a tasty treat. Fantastic job. Team Arctic Adventures. I can't wait to snorkel again with you! Many thanks!
