We were meant to take a morning tour but had unforeseen car troubles and were afraid we would miss our tour. Ryan was so understanding and allowed us to join the afternoon tour instead. Janet was our guide and absolutely AMAZING! She was so knowledgeable about the glacier and ice caves--taking us to three ice caves during our visit as well as all over the glacier. She was so kind and helpful to my in-laws,who were on the tour with us and needed to take a few breaks throughout. She made sure it was a wonderful experience for our entire group, and she took picture after picture of us! This was absolutely the highlight of our trip to Iceland-- the weather was incredible, the area was gorgeous, and it felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thank you, Janet and Ryan!

The glacier hike was a lot of fun and was also feasible for non-professional hikers. Many tours were on the way, which was probably also due to the fact that all tours were canceled the day before due to a snowstorm. It's a shame that the toilets at the meeting point cost money. And the organization of who actually went with which guide was a bit chaotic, you felt a bit like being passed on. But our guide Stella was great :-)

It was an amazing hike up the glaciers. The team provided us with crampons and ice axe for us, which makes it so much easier to hike. We wouldn’t be able to hike without a guide, so it was definitely a great experience! Also, take note that the weather changes a lot so it really affects how the ice cave looks like.
