A central square in Sorrento, the Piazza Tasso, is named for the poet Torquato Tasso of the 16th century. The communal space is perfect for people watching over a drink or two.
If you climb to the top of Mount Vesuvius, make sure to wear comfortable shoes. Unfettered panoramic views await, and the hike is well worth your time. Mount Vesuvius is best enjoyed on a clear day, as fog can obscure the view from the peak.
Run around the hilly landscape of the Sorrento Peninsula and take in the sweet citrus rich air, while you admire the coastline.
Discover the port of Marina Grande on an evening stroll. The convivial atmosphere of the Marina Grande is the perfect backdrop to watch the sunset on Sorrento as you enjoy the sounds and smells of this secluded harbor.

Sample a limoncello or a drink that favors the citrus flavor of a Sorrento lemon. The region has some succulent lemon trees. We also recommend trying the local olive oil while you're sightseeing in Sorrento.
Sorrento on foot is very scenic but if your feet hurt hop onto a city bus or train. You can also hire a taxi. To take a day trip, we recommend the trains and buses, though renting a car could be a fun way to see more of the landscape.

What People Are Saying About Sorrento
Tour began more or less on schedule. Tour guide was attentive, informative, and responsive to questions. Commentary on the island's past development and present culture was somewhat cursory, but perhaps all worth saying was said. Time allotted to souvenir shopping in Capri town proved a bit more than was needed.
the guide was very informative and entertaining. he was very knowledgeable about the area and made the tour great.
We had a short visit to Sorrento and decided to take the Amalfi coast tour. It was well worth every penny. We saw the most beautiful scenery which was all the more enhanced by Roberto our guide and excellent driving by Jean Luca. We we're picked up and dropped off at our hotel. Excellent service and made our short holiday wonderful. Thank you.
GiovanniLucca the driver did a great job driving. Our guide, Roberto was excellent! He was pleasant, knowledgeable, and caring to his guests. We were very pleased and will recommend this tour to anyone traveling in the Amalfi Coast area. Again thank you for the great excursion. Almost forgot! All the boat tour guys and guide were absolutely wonderful too. Keep up the good work, Ciao!
Even before the tour my wife and I were very impressed with the booking arrangements. After phoning 'Get Your Guide', Jessica from Activities Travel Etc emailed us the exact time of pick up at Sorrento station (we were staying in Pompeii) and phoned the day before to confirm. The bus was exactly on time and the tour totally exceeded our expectations. Roberto the guide was so informative and amusing, taking care of everyone's needs in the party, and the driver Giovanni was incredibly skillful and safe. The tour takes the beautiful coast road with its incredible views and was extremely well paced, giving just about the right length of time in Positano, Amalfi and Ravello, which are all stunning. We took the optional extra boat trip from Amalfi (12 E) and would recommend. Throughout the trip Roberto was constantly providing local knowledge very energetically. We really enjoyed our day out and were grateful to be dropped off near the Sorrento restaurant we had booked. Highly recommended!
