Start the bike tour in the heart of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter, the oldest part of the city. The beautiful square is the location of both the town hall and Palau de la Generalitat de Catalunya (Government of Catalonia). Ride through the Gothic Quarter to the end of the famous Las Ramblas, where you will find the Old Port of Barcelona. After learning about its rich history from being built in the 1600's to the present day, you'll ride over to another area of the old city of Barcelona, the Raval neighborhood.  Continuing on through the lively Eixample neighborhood, arrive in Sant Antoni with its central daytime market and many bars and tapas restaurants. No evening in Barcelona is complete without tapas, so you'll take a break from riding here to visit a local tapas bar and sample some classic Spanish cuisine. Now that we’ve had our fill of tapas, its time to ride up to the Plaza España and climb up the steps to get a night time view of the city. We’ll enjoy some Cava (sparkling Spanish wine) as we revel in the lights and sounds of Barcelona at night. You'll then pedal your way back, and admire the old bullfighting ring, illuminated at night, and learn of its new purpose since Catalonia banned bullfighting in 2010. See Gaudí's famous Casa Batlló and its curvy, illuminated facade. This sits on La Manzana de la Discordia, a block of several modernist houses that compete for the spotlight here at the epicenter of modernism.

Good way to explore the city with children. Buses run regularly and pass all the highlights of Barcelona. Think in advance about making a reservation for Park Guell and Sagrada Familia, among others
