What people are saying about Nerja
It was an early morning start but we were picked up by a very friendly guide called Anna and taken on a comfortable coach. With lots of scenery to enjoy on the way and interesting local info from our guide in English & Spanish. It does take a while to get to and from the actual Caminito by foot but that's understandable as this is a natural attraction. Everything was explained by Anna, who was just lovely. Nearby if we needed her but also left us to explore. The walk it self was spectacular. A little scary at times but very safe and secure. They have done a great job setting this up and allowing us to access such a place of natural beauty. It's not really for those with walking problems or fear of heights but if you can manage it, go for it, it's well worth it!
Enjoyed the trip. Would recommend it. It started in Malaga, at 9:40, bus was clean and comfortable. Arrived by 10:30 in Nerja, the museum is not really worth it, but it's only a short walk from Balcony of Europe. Nice views there, left there at 12:10 towards the caves. Worth visiting but I did not like that it was crowded. The lunch break (13:30-14:30) is at the restaurant outside the caves and it is a bit of a tourist trap. Do not recommend it. Next is Frigiliana, white cute village, took the scenic train ride for 3 euros/half an hour. Walked about another half hour. At 16:00 bus ride back to Malaga. Arrived almost at 17 back at pick-up point. All in all enjoyed it, the guide was hard to understand, even though he mixed english/spanish/french.
A nice day in two beautiful towns. However, even though the guide was nice, the tour itself was just standard - a large bus full of people, commentary in 3 languages on the bus and just free time in each town. I would suggest doing this tour with a different company that offers touring for smaller groups if possible.
Loved Frigiliana. It was an enchanted city and really beautiful lanes to walk by. We surely needed more time there. We liked our driver and guide in that place. However the English speaking guide inside Nerja caves did not know fluent English although she was trying very hard we did not understand what she spoke.
Ours was a last minute booking, literally the day before. The entire trip was well planned, the guides both knowledgeable and the complimentary beverage at the end was just the right thing at the right time! Great thanks to the guides, Guido and Amanda and the bus driver, Valeriano
