Cruise along the waters surrounding Zanzibar City on a 5.5-hour trip from Stone Town to the Mbweni Ruins. Begin your evening with a sunset cruise, followed by cocktails on board. Then disembark and feast on a romantic candlelit dinner at the ruins.
What to Expect
Sail away on a magical sunset cruise to Mbweni Ruins, a site that has been transformed into a hotel that combines old and new. On this 5.5-hour adventure, you will be transported to the lush botanical gardens surrounding Mbweni Ruins, a site first built in 1871 as a school for freed slave girls.
Your cruise will leave Stone Town, the old town of Zanzibar City, in the late afternoon. Enjoy the cool air and warm sun as you glide across the water to your destination.
Upon arrival, you will enjoy a cocktail on the jetty with spectacular views over the ocean, as you watch the sun set, changing the sky from shades of pinks and blues to magnificent golden colors.
After drinks, you will be escorted down the jetty of the Mbweni Ruins Hotel to the old ruins themselves, and your guide will answer any questions you have about the history of the site. You will be seated and then have time to enjoy fine dining in the light of a thousand candles, surrounded by the serenity of nature.
