1. From Zagreb: Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle Tour

Postojna Cave is a breathtaking site, known for its uniqueness, complexity and beauty. It is the only cave in Europe with a two-way railway specifically designed for sightseeing. Marvel at the cave's beautiful formations and natural galleries. The caves are also home to the endemic olm, the largest trogloditic amphibian in the world. The tour through the caves includes an aquarium with some olms in it. Just 9 kilometers from Postojna Cave is Predjama Castle, a Renaissance castle built within a cave mouth. In 1570, the current castle was built in the Renaissance style, pressed next to a vertical cliff under the original medieval fortification. The castle has remained in this form, virtually unchanged, to the present day. You can learn about the history of the castle and its use as a location in several films in the castle's museum.

The excursion is worth it. We were a small group of 7 people. The driver Mr. Goran very punctual. He explained the history of Croatia on the way to Varazdin. We arrived to visit the city of Varazdin where a local guide was waiting for us. He offered us a good tour and explanations about the place. Then we had an hour and a half free and we left for the Trakoscan Castle. Beautiful on the lake. We were able to take photos and enjoy the visit to the castle and the views. Then return to Zagreb. All this very well assisted and very professional.

Wonderful excursion! It was quite a day to remember. Both the city and the cave are charming! Very kind guide, a history lesson! Always making himself available for questions about the region, concerned if everything was going well and if we would need anything! Everything very well organized! It was just me and my mom, and not because we were just two people canceled! They took us nonetheless on this “private tour” and it was amazing! I highly recommend it!

Fantastic tour of Varazdin and Trakoscan Castle

Our guide was fabulous, Gorrin, because he was a history major and new everything about Croatia and the surrounding areas. On time and professional with a very comfortable ban. Spent time in Varazdin, a small town about an hour outside Zagreb with some time to explore on our own. Trakoscan Castle was located on a beautiful lake, great views with original furniture furnishings in the castle. A bit of a hike uphill to get into the Castle.

Superb town with a beautiful castle, the inner courtyard of which can be visited. The nearby cemetery is part of the excursion, it is good but not the most beautiful. Finally, the last castle is magnificent from the outside and it offers beautiful views. The interior decoration is a little less interesting. The guide spoke perfect English, with a slow enough pace to make it easier for all tourists to understand.

An interesting tour

We really enjoyed our tour. Goran was very knowledgable and interesting. We learned all about the history of Croatia including information about the wars. The town was pretty and the fairytale castle, beautiful. Thanks for an enjoyable day!
