Drive towards Mount Durmitor, where rocky peaks rise high into the sky. Pass dense pine and colorful deciduous forest. Stop at Đurđevića Tara Bridge, the highest in Europe when built in 1940. Cross the 365-meter-long bridge, 172 meters above the canyon floor if you´d like. Proceed to the hidden jewel of Durmitor National Park, the majestic Black Lake, among 18 glacial lakes above 1,500 meters on Durmitor Mountain. Altogether they are called "Mountain Eyes". Embark on a hike on the 4-kilometer trail around the lake. Stop at Žabljak, the highest town in the Balkans, located at 1,450 meters above sea level. Dine on a lunch of traditional Montenegrin food. Afterward, hit the road towards the most visited spiritual site in Montenegro, the Ostrog Monastery. Begin your ascent up the narrow and winding road close to sunset, enjoying spectacular views of the highly-perched monastery. View the relics of the monk Vasilije Ostroški, who founded the place. Return to Kotor at the end of your tour.

Start with pickup from your hotel in Žabljak. If you are looking for some extra exciting experience in National Park Durmitor, then rafting on the Tara River is for you. Tara Canyon is the main reason why many people from around the world come to explore Montenegro. Not only you will enjoy rafting itself, but you will see and feel breathtaking nature and beautiful waterfalls. You will go under the 170-high Tara Bridge, you can swim and even drink from this river – which is probably one of the last remaining unpolluted rivers in Europe. The Tara River or “The Tear of Europe” runs through the second deepest canyon in the world. It mesmerizes you with its transparent blue, but also emerald green color. It is called The Tear of Europe because its water is so clean, that you can drink from it. Mostly it runs through Durmitor National Park and it is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will be amazed by Tara’s left tributary, called Ljutica River (Angry River), which is the shortest (130m) and the most powerful river in Europe (1000 liters of water per second). This tour covers approximately 12km on the water. Not only you will paddle through exciting rapids, but you will also enjoy marvelous sceneries around! We go under the bridge and you can see what it looks like from a fish perspective. Then, we make two stops for you. One is next to the Ljutica River - where you will probably want to take some photos; and the other is for all of you who would like to swim in this clear, cold river. (There is a rock from where you can jump!) At the end of this tour – our transport will wait for you. We drive to the starting point, where you change your clothes, and then - if someone wants to get more adrenaline there is another adventure waiting for you - Zip Line above the canyon. Return to your hotel in Žabljak with unforgettable memories.

This Montenegro hiking tour is designed for backpackers and enthusiastic nature lovers passing through. An all-inclusive Durmitor hiking tour that will leave you amazed and speechless, wanting to return and see what else lies in this marvelous piece of planet Earth. Expect anything but the ordinary! Starting from our beloved base in Boka Bay at 7.00am, our goal for the day is Durmitor. Durmitor is a mountain range and a national park with over 40 peaks exceeding 2000 meters (6561 feet) above sea level. Enjoy the scenic drive through Montenegro's countryside and take advantage of the photo stops along the way to capture the beauty! Our goal is to summit one of the most unique and beautiful peaks of Durmitor. Depending on the weather, group dynamics, and guide's decision, we will choose Prutaš Peak or Crvena Greda Peak. Prutaš Peak, known as the king of south Durmitor, stands at 2393 meters and offers breathtaking views and a rewarding hike. Alternatively, Crvena Greda Peak, at 2175 meters, provides an equally stunning experience, with the added attraction of the serene Jablan Lake nearby. Before the hike, we will stop for a delicious local breakfast served at around 10.20 am at a mountain household to fuel up with energy. Both hikes are moderately challenging, featuring some technical sections, but accessible to any determined hiker. After around 2.30h of hiking, we will enjoy the scenery from the peak before heading back towards our late lunch/dinner spot. We'll say goodbye to the mountain for now, and head back to Kotor after our meal. Arrival is expected around 9.00pm. We start this e-bike tour from Zabljak. We cycle uphill on asphalt road toward the first viewpoint – Curevac (1626m). Curevac is about 7.6km far from Zabljak town. It is an amazing viewpoint that offers the most beautiful view of the deepest part of the Tara Canyon. Here, we make a small pause to take a rest and take some pictures. We continue the uphill, asphalt road through the forest towards Stuoc. When we get there – a fantastic view of Durmitor Mountain and the panorama of Zabljak opens up! Even though it is not a mountain top, you will feel like you are standing on one of those. If you come on a sunny day, you will enjoy the most. From here, we ride downhill asphalt road toward Bosaca village. This small, beautiful village beneath Durmitor mountain is the highest situated place in the Balkans! We cycle through this beautiful village and we have a stop at a few places, where you can enjoy the amazing view of this secluded and beautiful place. Then, we go on a macadam road, towards Zminje Lake. Soon, we reach– a green Durmitor pearl, hidden among the trees! Here we can take a deserved break, get some snacks and drink fresh, cold water from the spring on its shore. On this lake, you will certainly see several types of dragonflies and the sound of forest silence is the best in this place! Mountain biking through these areas is something you must not miss! From Zminje Lake we take a single trail downhill through the forest, along the Mlinski potok (The Mill Spring). This is mostly a narrow, downhill path and in some places a little bit demanding! Especially if the ground is wet, then there is a lot of mud. However, it is exciting and challenging! Also, this part of the trail is quiet, with birds chirping in its area, but 30 years ago it was wide and bustling with shepherds and their sheep and cows. Soon after, we get on a marvelous forest trail toward Black Lake. However, there are places where you will probably slow down to feel the mesmerizing atmosphere of the forest and watch the sun's rays break its lush greenery! Soon, we reach Black Lake – which is the biggest and the most beautiful lake in Durmitor. Its beauty will surely leave you breathless! Here, we take some pictures and continue our ride toward Zabljak!

We will start the day by driving through the surroundings of Podgorica and further rural areas until we reach Niksic, the second biggest city in Montenegro. It will be a good place to have a short brake, have a walk, coffe or famous Niksicko beer. After visiting Niksic, we will continue to the north of Montenegro, a region known for its high mountains, impressive canyons, old forests, glacial lakes and the mountain way of living. We will visit the Black Lake, the pearl of the Durmitor National Park, and enjoy a walk through the coniferous forest around the beautiful lake. We will find out what phenomena are related to the Black Lake and the Durmitor mountain massif, which has been on the UNESCO list since 1980. We will enjoy a panoramic drive over the Durmitor plateau, visit some other glacial lakes, mysterious medieval cemeteries also listed as the world cultural heritage. At the end, we will admire the grandeur and beauty of the deepest European canyon. We will visit the lookout with a view of the deepest point of the canyon and, if desired, climb to the nearby peak. We will not miss a chance to visit the famous bridge in Đurđevića Tara, from which there is a magnificent view of both sides of the canyon, and the water as clear as a tear. For those who would like to experience a little more adventure, the zip line from one side of the canyon to the other is a great option. Itinerary: - 8:30 a.m. - a pick up at your place of stay - After about 45 minutes of driving, we reach Niksic.. We have a short walk near the Petrovic castle. - Around 12.00 we reach the town of Žabljak and the Black Lake located in the heart of the Durmitor National Park. - After a walk around the lake, we head to the lookout point, which offers a magnificent view of the deepest part of the Tara river canyon. - Somewhere around 4 o'clock in the afternoon we arrive at the bridge in Đurđevića Tara. We spend about an hour there. - On the way back to Podgorica, we drive over the beautiful Durmitor plateau, where we visit the medieval cemetery, a part of the world cultural heritage. - A Return to Podgorica is around 8 p.m. - Drop off at your place of stay

On a full-day tour, you will spend around 5 h (36km) on the water!  We go under the bridge and you can see what it looks like from a fish perspective. Then, we make two stops for you. (There is a rock from where you can jump!)  On this tour, you will see hidden and amazing waterfalls, and you will raft through the deepest part of the canyon (1300m above sea level) We make a pause for you to have lunch and on the way back to Zabljak we stop on a viewpoint Curevac where you can see the canyon from above. Undoubtedly this is the best viewpoint on the deepest part of the canyon! Driving back seems like a real jeep safari tour through villages and forests in the heart of National Park Durmitor! Enjoyable road trip goes first to Zabljak Crnojevica, we will visit abandoned castle of Montenegrin ruling family Crnojevici. Than we will go to find wild horses and enjoy magnificent nature of Bisevina savanna. Later we continue to village Virpazar and Fort Besac to enjoy panoramic view at Skadar lake while having a coffee inside the Fort. Later we continue to panoramic road around Skadar lake and have a short break at Macalov brijeg view point. From this place we are close to village River Crnojevica, which is among oldest Montenegrin settlements with Old bridge, etno restaurants and cultural heritage. After short walk around village, we continue to observe River Crnojevica from Pavlov side view point, which is the top panoramic views in all country. After taking few photos we would go to Mrkan winery and have amazing wine tasting tour. Last destination is the village Karuc, with its peaceful view and the silence of the Skadar lake, this is a real paradise for the end of the tour.
