Visit the Yves Saint Laurent Museum to learn about the renowned fashion designer as well as the Berber Museum for a deep dive into the local culture The Jardin Majorelle, which extends over 9,000 m², is one of the most enchanting and mysterious gardens in Morocco. Created over the course of forty years, it is enclosed by outer walls, and consists of a labyrinth of crisscrossing alleyways on different levels and boldly-coloured buildings that blend both Art Deco and Moorish influences. The French painter Jacques Majorelle conceived of this large and luxuriant garden as a sanctuary and botanical ‘laboratory’. In 1922, he began planting it with exotic botanical specimens from the far corners of the world. In 1980, Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé, who first arrived in Morocco in 1966, purchased the Jardin Majorelle to save it from destruction at the hands of hotel developers. The new owners decided to live in Jacques Majorelle’s villa, which they renamed the Villa Oasis. “For many years, the Jardin Majorelle has provided me with an endless source of inspiration, and I have often dreamt of its unique colours.” Yves Saint Laurent

Marrakech: Majorel Garden, Camel ride in Palmerai, City trip

8. Marrakech: Majorel Garden, Camel ride in Palmerai, City trip

Deep blue are the gardens of Majorelle (son of the great french decorator and cabinet maker) who fell inlove with colorful marrakech. He painted the walls of his house and garden in a shade of blue that has borne his name ever since. He has become a reference point in the moroccan palette. His house was saved from total ruin and perfectly removed by Yves saint-Laurent, the famous fashion designer who now owns it. He has found in morocco and especially in marrakech the material he needs to instil in his collections this specific art of colours that now has become his trademark: zellijs inspired silk ties and scarves and endless variations in their designs. This visit takes place with an air-conditioned vehicle with all options . Head to the palm grove to ride a camel and take a ride through its glamorous homes and famous residents. Let's stop for a moment to appreciate this greenery where the sun comes to drown and recharge its batteries at the same time in this country.
