Our tour guide was a 20 year old, mulleted Melbourner named Jakob. He was an exceptional guide. Our three hour hike along the hike was packed with fascination information both geological and biological. Like many features in nature, water had the most dramatic impact on this canyon. 450 million years ago this rock formation was the sea bed in an ocean. These fossilised ripples were seen throughout the trail. Furthermore, the dramatic canyon expands in size because of rainwater and its impact. The plant life had developed complex systems of mating in these harsh conditions. Water was used and stored efficiently. The aptly named 'Garden of Eden' showcased the storage capacity for rainwater. Unsurprisingly, lush green trees grew in this area. One aspect of this trip which impressed me was the depth and variety of the knowledge of our guide Jakob. Only 20 years old and a temporary transplant from Melbourne, there was never a question asked in which an answer evaded him.
Our experience with the Rockstar TN tour was really good. We had such good days. Mark, the Tour guide made us laugh as much as possible. I travelled with my Mum which is 54 years Old. She had not at all problems. It was super good that we have been a small group. So, we had the stories and attention directly from our Tour Guide. The timing between the different places was always perfect. From beginning the Airport till the drop off at the Airport. We have never been at a place where have been a lot of other people. Only flies have been everywhere. But we get used to very fast. He told us a lot of the Aboriginal Culture. The hike between the magnificent domes of Kata Tjuta was breathtaking. Our Conclusion is that the Rockstar TN make the best Uluru Camping Adventure! Thank you Mark so much for the amazing time we had with you and Roxy (the Bus).
Our guide Dan was so informative. We loved walking around the whole base learning the stories of Uluru and what each marking on the Rock meant. I'd really recommend this tour, instead of blindly walking around you gain great insight into the significance of this beautiful place and it's people.
Our tour guide John was lovely and so passionate about the place. He was great with our children and made us feel very welcome. Do be aware the flies are awful so do invest in fly nets!
Telling of the dreamtime stories gives you a deeper understanding to how sacred this place is for the traditional owners and why you feel a strong inner energy when around Uluru.
