Embark on a walking tour of York. Meet your guide outside St Michael Le Belfrey Church, between the York Minster and Guy Fawkes Inn on High Petergate. Follow your guide around the streets, including lesser-known areas with stops to hear the grim history and haunted stories of the area. Enjoy a tour that fluctuates between comedy and seriousness, with dark and very detailed stories. Hear gripping tales of suicide, execution, plague and other extremely cruel realities of times gone by. Along the way, see famous landmarks such as the Minster and the Shambles, ending on or near the Shambles depending on how busy the area is.

Meeting point

Meet outside the front of St Michaels Le Belfrey Church. It is between the Minster and Guy Fawkes Inn on High Petergate. There are usually two large square plant pots there. If using Google Maps, please use the address provided or, if in doubt, look up the Guy Fawkes Inn and then walk around to the front of the church. The church itself currently has the incorrect Google postcode so please avoid or it will take you to a completely different place.
