It was great! Would have loved a speedboat but I learned there is a speed limit on the river and speeding is not aloud but personally I enjoyed cruising by myself with the boat very much - this was in April during the day; don’t think this is something you would enjoy in winter/ cold weather. One of the activities I enjoyed the most in York.

A christmassy cruise down the river to see the Bishopsthorpe Palace was a nice way to spend an hour or so. Easy parking at St Georges Field and a short river walk to the landing. Nice way to see a bit of York if you’re a visitor. All undercover if it’s raining. Friendly, helpful staff.

Our skipper/guide was fantastic. Informative and funny. A really engaging guy and made the experience very enjoyable. All staff were very friendly. Only improvement would’ve been if the seats outside could’ve been wiped down before we boarded so there weren’t puddles of water on them.

Our sailor Ande was really nice and enlightened us with the history of York

A nice Christmas chill on the river, very nice staff = all good
