On this tour, explore the temples, mosques and churches of this multi-cultural city. Your guide will show you how the locals worship, and how they have protected the invaluable cultural wealth of their ancestors for thousands of years.
What to Expect
A local guide will pick you up in your hotel lobby at 09:00. The tour begins at Daxingshan Temple, which is a Buddhist oasis of quiet and peace in the prosperous metropolis of Xi’an, one of the oldest Buddhist temples in China, and a birthplace of Chinese Tantric Buddhism.
Next comes the Guangren Temple, the only Tibetan Buddhist monastery in Shaanxi Province. It is a symbol of cultural communication between Tibetans and Han Chinese. Afterwards, see the Temple of the Eight Immortals - the largest Taoist temple in Xi’an.
In the afternoon, continue to the Great Mosque - one of the oldest, largest and most well-preserved Islamic mosques in China. This building is famous not only for its centuries-old history, but also for its unique design of mixed architecture, combining traditional Muslim and Chinese styles. Finally, visit the Catholic Church at Wuxing Street, before your guide drops you off at your hotel.
