See the Terracotta Warriors and Horses of Xi’an on an 8-hour small group tour to the funerary honor guards of Emperor Ch’in Shih Huang-ti, and cycle along the ancient city wall of Xi’an. Enjoy an authentic homestay lunch, and more.
What to Expect
Enjoy a combined full-day, small group sightseeing tour of the city wall of Xi’an and the Museum of Qin Pottery Figures, site of one of the greatest archaeological finds of the 20th century.
Your guide will lead you on the climb to the top of Xi’an’s City Wall, built more than 600 years ago as a defense system for the ancient capital of China. Although construction of the first wall began in 194 BC, the existing structure dates from the Ming Dynasty of the 14th century.
Walk along the fortifications, passing the remaining watchtowers and a draw bridge. Enjoy panoramic views of the city and surrounding moat, while your guide shares city legends and historical stories. Next, you will cycle for approximately 90 minutes to see more of the wall’s monuments. Golf carts are available for those who prefer.
Visit a local family to enjoy a homespun lunch, before continuing to the Terracotta Warriors Museum. You will stop at the mausoleum of the 1st Qin Emperor en route, before wandering the gallery to see some 8,000 life-size terracotta sculptures of men and horses of the Emperor’s funerary art, each one with unique features.
