London: Christmas Lights Night Tour on Open-Top Bus
- Duration: 75 minutes
- Optional audio guide
In the heart of London, one of England's most famous churches is not only the location of national events - perhaps most recently, the Royal Wedding - but also the burial ground of some of the country's key historical figures.
England's heritage is rich with Saxon influences. Saebert ruled in the 6th century and is celebrated as one of the first kings to convert from pagan religions to Christianity.
Her reign spanned the Anglo-Spanish war and English settlement in the Americas, but she is also known for ordering the execution of her cousin, Queen Mary of Scotland.
Dickens was the author of A Christmas Carol, Oliver Twist, and Great Expectations - works which have created cultural ripples in TV and film.
Sir Newton, who studied at Cambridge, is famous for discovering gravity when an apple fell on his head from a tree.
The father of the notorious Henry VIII has his very own chapel area and is buried next to his wife. Their tomb is luxurious, gold, and in Renaissance style to reflect their wealth.
Photography is not permitted in the church area, only in the cloisters. There will be clear guidance as to where these areas are - if in doubt, ask someone who works there.
Even if they are not physically buried at the Abbey, there are many memorial stones to famous influencers - among them the Bronte sisters, Martin Luther King, Jr., and William Shakespeare.
As it is a church, visitors are asked to take care in how they dress when visiting Westminster Abbey - no hats and knees and shoulders covered.
Large luggage items can't be brought inside the building - it is recommended that you check them into the secure storage facilities at one of London's major rail stations.

Always my go-to in new cities to learn my way around. Pretty scheduled every 20 mins for the 3 day ticket we had. Easy to see around the whole city, saved us taxis/Ubers by just getting off at the closer stop to things we wanted to see and do all over the city. Note: the BLUE line is not operational now- it’s “seasonal.” I must have missed that in the booking. The river cruise is actually very worth it. Love the different views and commentary. Easy, reliable. Peaceful even just to ride around their loops. Definitely recommend as a both a tour and a taxi for you!
We do have one problem when trying to order our drinks on you booking from it dose not let you so we had to buy on the day it was not a problem for us but there was a older couple on the tote with us who order a bottle of wine and was very shocked to find out you charged them £45 pound I really think you need to get this fixed so people can order and see prices first
Tim, our guide, was superb. Very knowledgeable, patient, easy to understand and really cared that everyone had what they needed. Great sense of British humor. Really knew his stuff.
