What People Are Saying About West Lake, Hanoi
We are extremely pleased to report that our 3 guides from GetYourGuide are excellent in their volunteer guide. They are understanding and flexible in the planning. Lunch was authentic grilled fish recommended by one of the guide. Overall it is was an enriching experience and we will definitely recommend to our friends.
Our guide is caring and knowledgeable. She speaks good English and is able to explain the history and surroundings to us in that half day. She helped us navigate those busy streets in Old Quarter so effortlessly. Good job Hana. We got to have a sumptuous and excellent value for money meal from her recommendation. She also showed us where to buy the Vietnamese coffee. It was absolutely awesome.
We booked a half day tour through the French and Old Quarter as well as around the lake. We had an excellent guide called Emily who showed us some very interesting places and told us lots about the country and its history. We had been on other tours around Hanoi, but this was the best.
The volunteer guide was very kind and helpful, I recommend this tour to people traveling alone and wanting to know the Vietnamese culture and history from the point of view of a inhabitant.
The Hanoi Walking Tour would have to be the ultimate win-win!. It was a great opportunity for me to discover Hanoi with two charming students, and the students got to practice their English skills. The girls kindly helped me find a special Ao Dai dress for my daughter, even enlisting the help of family to find the right shop. We also visited Maison Centrale (Hoa Lo prison aka the Hanoi Hilton). It was great to talk about Hanoi and Vietnam generally with two locals, ask about the normal lives of Hanoians and simply enjoy meeting some lovely young people. And the crazy thing - it's free! I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Hanoi for the first time.
