Wave Break Island

Depart from Gold Coast on a fun-filled guided kayaking tour to Wave Break Island where you can snorkel, enjoy a snack, and relax while admiring amazing city views away from the crowds. After passing the iconic Broadwater, your friendly tour guides will brief you on kayaking techniques. Cruise through spectacular waters, where you might have the chance to spot dolphins and stingrays. Paddle through beautiful sandbanks, offering a unique Gold Coast City view in the background, and arrive at the Northern side of Wave Break Island, where you will park your kayaks next to a scenic spot. Take a short bushwalk to Wave Break Island’s Eastern side to snorkel and explore the underwater beauty of this fantastic island.  Swim amongst the friendly rocky reef locals, diamond fish, and black bream, and discover many other species, from sea cucumbers, trumpet fish, and sergeant fish. You can even find Dory if you are lucky. Here, natural and man-made beauty are combined to create a picture-perfect background; the beautiful Gold Coast waterways with the city’s collection of skyscrapers on the horizon. As you get out of the water, a snack will be waiting for you. Savor it whilst admiring the amazing views, and get ready to return to the starting point.

Spend time with the fishes on this snorkeling adventure. Wave Break has one of the highest amounts of fish in Australia and is a fantastic site for snorkeling. There are over 50 different species of fish with depths ranging from  0–15 meters. Many of the fish school in their hundreds and are very people friendly. This site is ideal for both the beginner and the advanced due to the location there is minimum swell. All snorkellers can be assisted with a guide on the basics of snorkeling and the areas that are best for photography and fish feeding. Snap some cool photos of the fishes underwater and hand-feed the fish. Take a break from snorkeling and pend some time exploring what Wave Break has to offer, including a beautiful stretch of the beach secluded from other boating activities. Or float on a boogie board with view holes to watch the sea life pass you by.  Get dropped off at your hotel with your photos and unforgettable memories. Return hotel transfers from Main Beah and Surfers Paradise. The duration of this activity from pickup to drop-off is 4 hours.

Scale the heights of adventure with a tandem or triple parasailing adventure in Surfers Paradise. Accompanied by an instructor, hop on a parasailing boat specifically designed for the job. Feel your cares slip away as you drift softly on warm air currents and drink in the gorgeous views below. After you’ve been briefed about your flight, sit back on a boat and listen to music on the water. After the boat reaches the fly zone on the Broadwater, it's time to make your way to the platform at the back to get ready for your flight. Get fitted into your harness and clipped to a parachute by deckhands. Once the skipped gauges the perfect conditions, be released high into the sky (at a controlled rate) to begin your parasailing adventure. Once you are high enough, enjoy 360° views ranging from the Surfers Paradise skyline to South Stradbroke and WaveBreak islands and around the mountain ranges of the Gold Coast, including Springbrook and Tambourine Mountains. Down below, spot schools of fish, pelicans, and other water birds on the Broadwater. If you're lucky, you can see bottle-nosed dolphins, sea turtles, and the odd dugong. Hop on and hold on as you cruise across Southern Broadwater aboard a speedy jet boat that offers unforgettable fun for the whole family.   Depart from Pelican Beach, Waterways Dr, Main Beach, set off to experience fast and thrilling jet boat spins and slides through the Southern Broadwater and around Wavebreak Island.  Listen to onboard commentary by a knowledgeable skipper, showcasing the stunning waterways of the Gold Coast as you cruise on the unique, safe, and spacious 22- seater twin-engine jet boat.

Explore the underwater world of the Gold Coast, Australia. This dive is purely for pleasure and no experience is necessary. You will be accompanied by a certified PADI instructor throughout the whole dive.  You will be picked up from your Gold Coast accommodation and then board the boat at Marina Mirage. You’ll travel approximately 10 minutes north by boat to the Wave Break Island. Leaving the boat, you’ll head to the island and get comfortable wearing & using the SCUBA equipment in calm, shallow waters before heading off on your underwater safari.  Besides seeing beautiful and fascinating aquatic creatures first hand, you’ll experience sensations unique to scuba diving, like the feeling of floating weightless like an astronaut in space. You will be swimming amongst the many different species of fish of the Gold Coast, with the opportunity to hand feed them too.  Once back to the boat, you can take off for a relaxing snorkel or simply lounge about on the boat enjoying some light refreshments. A certificate is awarded to every diver. At the end of the activity you will be dropped back to your hotel. The duration of the tour from pickup to drop-off is approximately 4 hours.

Take a 3-Day PADI Open Water Course which will provide you with the knowledge and skills you’ll need to safely explore the underwater world. With your expert instructor, enjoy learning scuba diving in a safe environment. On the first day, take part in some academic training where you will learn the basic principles of safe and enjoyable diving. Then across the following 2 days, learn the basic skills of diving with some confined water training and subsequent dives in the open water where you will demonstrate your new skills in a typical underwater environment. Upon successful completion of this course, be awarded the PADI Open Water Certification card enabling you to scuba dive anywhere throughout the world to a depth of a maximum of 18 metres. The certificate also entitles you to hire equipment from dive stores and is valid for life.

Your experience will start with a full safety briefing, some test zigs zags to help you get a feel for the machine, and some handy tips from experienced instructors. Then off you drive to explore the waterways of Surfers Paradise on a jet ski adventure with a lead instructor guiding the way. Surfers Paradise to Wavebreak Island 'Pelicans and Picnic' Cruise - Complimentary Cheese and Fruit Platter as well as a glass of Prosecco for our (18+) guests! A fantastic way to spend some time on the Gold Coast's beautiful Broadwater - cruising past the spectacular Pelican feeding ritual to arrive at your Island destination where you will relax with a gourmet picnic! Guests cruise with 'Beachcomber' for a 3 hour tour to be marooned - just briefly - on Gold Coast's famous Wavebreak Island! Itinerary: This tour embarks moments after 1pm from the beach at Lionel Perry Park where our boat 'Beachcomber' will pull into shore to invite guests aboard via our beach access steps/ladder at the bow of our boat. This cruise takes guests North past the spectacular houses fronting the Nerang River and out into the Gold Coast Broadwater, past Southport Yacht Club, Marina Mirage and SeaWorld. We'll pause on our Island journey to witness the 1:30pm ritual of the famous Pelican feeding where close to a hundred pelicans swoop in to gather for their lunch time seafood feast! Discover the resident sea life of dolphins, green sea turtles and even the occasional dugong. Our next stop on our tour is across the waterways to Wavebreak Island where our guests can be Island castaways for about an hour and a half! 'Beachcomber's' beach-access front ladder provides the perfect access to get the Island sand beneath your feet. We've prepared a Picnic Hamper (+ picnic blanket/cabana) that our guests can choose to take ashore to enjoy their Prosecco and Cheese and Fruit Platter on the Island! or Guests can choose to stay aboard Beachcomber and enjoy their Prosecco and Platter while relaxing on deck! While we anchor at Wavebreak, we'll tie our Aqua Lily Mat up beside Beachcomber so our guests can enjoy some float therapy! Fishing at Wavebreak Island is also an option! Guests can yabby pump for bait (tide permitting) and borrow one of Beachcomber's fishing rods to cast a line from the beach. Then, after your Island escape, it will be all back on board for a leisurely 30 minute cruise back to Surfers Paradise. Included in Tour: Complimentary Cheese and Fruit Platter - platter pictured is for 2 adults. Soft Drinks and Bottled Drinking water on board for all to enjoy. Glass (or two) of Prosecco!
