What You'll Do
  • Learn the answers to the many questions surrounding the Palace of Culture and Science
  • Visit a room of the palace known as Cats Paradise
  • See the views from the 30th-floor Viewing Platform
The basement of the Palace of Culture and Science is one of the most mysterious places in Warsaw. Was it the site of a nuclear shelter or maybe a movie set? Are there hidden tunnels? How many cats live there? See for yourself on this guided tour.
What to Expect
For over 60 years, the Palace of Culture and Science has stood as a symbol of Warsaw and as the most recognizable building across Poland. With admission prohibited to the common people during the Communist era, it has moved the imagination of everyone who has seen it from the outside.

Stalin presented the building to Warsaw as a gift from the Soviet Union to the Polish people, but was it really a gift? How long did it take to build such a building? As you’ll find out on this tour there are lot of secrets to be discovered.

On this 40-minute guided tour, you’ll visit the main control room, a room prepared specially for the palace's cats, and known as Cats Paradise, and an exhibition for its 60th anniversary with authentic and unique artifacts.

Tours ends at the Viewing Platform on the 30th floor.
