This walking tour was fantastic! Our guide was so nice and extremely knowledgeable about the history, not only of the holocaust, but also of the wider historical and cultural context of Poland. He took us to so many historically significant places and gave us so much information about life in the ghetto, that the time flew by so quickly. We didn't even realise how far we had walked or that 3 hours had already passed! I would definitely recommend this tour for anybody (except small children). If I return to Warsaw I will go on this tour again.
Our guide spoke perfect English and was hugely informative. He really helped to paint a vivid picture of War torn Warsaw as well as educating us about life under Soviet rule. It was fun to travel round in the communist era bus and we saw parts of the city which we wouldn’t have experienced otherwise. He also took us to a hipster place for lunch ( which we hadn’t realised was included in the price) where we had a local speciality and obligatory beer. Would thoroughly recommend.
Wojtek was excellent! Guided us through the history of the Jews from early settlement in Warsaw through to the atrocities of World War 11. Although a lot of the areas are no longer there, Wojtek had a wide catalogue of photos on his tablet to compare. We felt many emotions as we walked through these areas. He was able to remain neutral about the different groups at that time, but also reflected the thoughts of the Jewish/Polish people of that time. Very impelling tour!
My partner and I wanted a break form Warsaw, so this trip to the country was a gentle and pleasant change which left us feeling relaxed and refreshed. A varied and interesting itinerary with the knowledgable and un phased guide Martin. He was knowledgable, efficient and thoughtful, and at the same time comfortable to be around with. An enjoyable day thank you.
fantastic guide. knew a lot about communism and polish history. friendly and smart. he's open for discussion about past, present and future poland and the world in general. nice sights of communism warsaw. and i didn't have to ask to go off the beaten track. he was kind enough to do that on his own. it was super. thanks!!!
