The old Greek Monasteries blend in perfectly with the surrounding environment creating a once in a lifetime sensation. It is my most popular tour(more than 100 times a year)and there is a good reason for that. I will be explaining a lot about geology, history, orthodox religion, and the impact Meteora has had on Greece over the centuries, and in the present day. We will also talk about Greece and the Greek way of life. Since I've been doing this for so many years, I know the best traditional local restaurants, I know where are the best stops, where to go, we will visit the spots that are "off the map" for the majority of tourists, for you to take the best photos that you would otherwise miss, and to give you an unforgettable experience. On this excursion, a comfortable bus ride will take you south to the port city of Volos where a ship awaits to sail you to the Sporades (ferry fare not included). Admire the stunning views of the Aegean Sea as you approach the idyllic island of Skiathos. Stroll through the quaint Greek village with narrow white streets and visit the picturesque church atop the summit for an unforgettable view of the endless sea. Don't forget to bring your swimsuit for a dip in one of the island's most beautiful beaches. Traditional taverns also await your visit. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of this enchanting island before returning to the starting point.

We will meet at Karaiskos Farm, just 2km driving from the center of Portaria village farm where your culinary experience will be start. Upon arrival, walk to the farm's organic garden where you will collect all the necessary ingredients, fresh eggs from the chicken house, and herbs from the herb garden. Then, advance to the wood-fired oven in the open kitchen where you will cook local recipes and learn your hosts' secrets. Throughout the cooking lesson, sip on "tsipouro" (a local drink) with a small meze. Then set the table and sit down to enjoy what you have cooked. At the conclusion of your tour, you will receive a bag with small gifts.

Set off for a rejuvenating day with your friends or family on a sailboat adventure from Volos. Relax on board, swim in the stunning blue waters of the Pagasetic Gulf, and explore Trikeri Island. A cocktail, snacks, snorkeling gear, and paddle-boarding gear will be provided. Leave early in the morning to visit some secluded locations in the Pagasetic Gulf, such as Tzasteni, Prassouda Island, Milina, Afissos, and many small picturesque bays. Your skipper will navigate the boat safely while your hostess prepares snacks and more. Stop at secluded beaches and dive into crystal-clear waters. Dock at Trikeri Island. Explore the island on your own or bring food to cook on the boat. For a taste of the local cuisine, check out the few tavernas serving up Greek island delicacies. After lunch, enjoy a cocktail on board and even try your hand in sailing. If weather permits, you'll have the chance to snorkel or use the stand-up paddleboard available on board. End the day with a sure-to-be magical sunset as you return to the Volos port.

Prepare yourself for a lifetime experience. A unique geological phenomenon that would be worth visiting if it was just for the natural beauty of it, but the thing is that on top of those rocks exist wonderful monasteries. Monasteries that look like impossible buildings (like an Esser’s drawing), continue right from where the rock ends. But they‘re very real, standing there suspended in time, in space, floating above what is “normal” or “real”. A little before we arrive at Meteora you begin to see Kalabaka, the beautiful small town that lies at the feet of these majestic rocks. Of course, you cannot miss a rocky formation, a natural wall, already impressive at first sight that hides what’s there to see like a theater curtain. There are 6 visitable monasteries. Depending on the day of the week not all of them are open. Most people usually visit 2-3 monasteries. But itinerary can be tailored to your needs even on the spot. The first Monastery that we visit is Agios Stefanos convent. It lies at the edge of rock for almost 600 years and was founded by Saint Anthony. It is by far the most accessible Monastery of them all. Secondly one can visit Agia Triada Monastery (Holy Trinity). This is the most inaccessible monastery of them all! A winding stone road stands before most 250 steps. Then we find Roussanou, whose built-in lower elevation makes it more accessible than others. A convent again with 15 nuns living in it. Varlaam Monastery is a personal favorite by many. It has been founded more than 650 years ago by a Monk named Varlaam. The biggest monastery called “The Great Meteoron” was founded by Saint Athanasios the Meteorite in the 14th century. Visiting it involves climbing up a lot of steps and takes more time than visiting others since it is bigger and has more rooms to see. Agios Nikolaos monastery is small and different. The rock it is built in is small, thus the monastery buildings had to be extended upward instead of outward. But that’s not all of it! There used to be many more but due to time passing by, bad construction, war, etc most have collapsed over time. Though you can see from the outside a few more.
