  • Vilnius: Beer Tour & Tasting

Take a journey through the history of beer brewing in Lithuania, where it is referred to by the people as liquid bread, on this 3-hour tour. In addition, you will find out how it was produced, viewed, and consumed in the past, in comparison to today. Pay a visit to a variety of pubs and sample the different kinds of beers available, as your guide shares how beer has left its mark on popular folklore. Continue on to a small, local beer brewery, where professionals will reveal the methods and secrets of beer production. When your tour ends, use it as a starting point for exploring Vilnius's unique nightlife.

I went on this tour with my daughter, age 23, so the cost for 2 people was not very economical. During the course of the evening, we drank less than 2 pints each. However, the guide was especially knowledgeable and friendly. She was well prepared with historical information about the history of beer in general and in Lithuania in particular. We stopped at 2 micro breweries and one pub. The publican at 'Busi Trecias' was especially outgoing and descriptive about his family's business. Our last stop was at 'Jovaro Snekutis' and we enjoyed the dark beer but the light beer seemed to be 'off' and we did not drink it. 'Snekutis' did not interact with us, except to bring the beer. This was disappointing as we were expecting a very interesting and 'chatty character'. Suggest you include a local phone number on your website as I did not have any confidence that the website was legitimate until I called the office in Germany.

Ugne contacted us in advance to clarify what priorities we had on the tour! And it fully fulfilled the wish to show us things that are not to be found in every travel guide. With her lively manner she managed to get us very familiar with her Vilnius during these hours! She also responded very well and competently to all our questions. We can highly recommend ugne (apart from the fact that your German was also excellent!)

The leadership was sensational

Irina led us through “her” city with such enthusiasm and love. It literally swept us away. She explained Vilnius to us with great respect and knowledge. We will come back and take another tour with her. Thank you.
