What People Are Saying About Vienna
We enjoyed our visit through the Cathedral, and going up the tower, however the 2 or 3 times we spoke with employees, (asking questions about where the entrances for the tower & catacombs were) they acted as if they didn't even want to help us. If they're THAT miserable in their jobs, perhaps they should consider working somewhere else. Otherwise, the Cathedral is well worth visiting.
Excellent . With the travel component was able to use public transport often and with ease. Also able to access the museums easily . Only point is that in a number of them you still need to line up and get a ticket and others they just scan the pass and you ate in
Had a great view of Vienna at night by riding the Ferris wheel. I loved the historic murals, dioramas/models, and drawings inside the waiting area for this attraction. The one drawback was buying the tickets online. Did that while in the park because the prior purchase line was much shorter. However, you have to print out the ticket and still present it at the regular line. After purchasing online had to go over to the main information desk and ask them to print it to then take the paper ticket back to the regular line. So, I went through three lines after purchasing it online. Ugh. Fortunately, the regular line had shortened from the time I first started to purchase the tickets online.
We spent six interesting days in wonderfum+l circumstances, in the clean city, with excellent transportation; good food; in a hotel with three stars where, unfortunalelly, the towels were not changed for six nights!!
Because the various trams, buses, U-banns and S-trains are so frequent and good, we found that, except for the recorded commentary on the dedicated hop-on/hop-off buses, the use of these were somewhat superfluous in Vienna area. The entries into the museums however, made up for the cost of our 3-day ticket.
