Full description
On the way to the city of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's birth, you will be able to absorb the astonishing beauty of the Salzkammergut, an area where Emperor Franz Josef I once spent his holidays, full of mountains and lakes and a UNESCO world heritage site. Arrive just in time for lunch. A tour around the old town will show you all the most important sights of this noble city, seat of the archbishop-princes. You will take in the Cathedral, the Festival Theater, and St Peter's Church and graveyard. There, you will find the grave of Nannerl, Mozart's sister. Naturally, you will also visit the archbishops' residence and the house Mozart was born in. After that, you will see some of the places where The Sound of Music was filmed - for example, the Pferdeschwemme, or Horse Well, famous from the song "Edelweis", and the Mirabell Palace, where "Do Re Mi!" was filmed, with its beautiful views of the Hohensalzburg fortress.

the number of persons were too much while we did not get a personal audio guide, so it was hard to hear the explanation around the city. secondly, the guided tour was too rushed in a large number of group. overall, we lovet free time so we able to explore more.

Great day out.

Had a great ride into the country. Salzburg was very interesting and it was a festival so added bonus. The restaurant we stopped at for fist break was the best it had everything so as it was an early start 7.15 it was the perfect place. Tour guide Thomas was very good as was driver Micky

Excellent!

The city of Salzburg is lovely and the tour was well organized. Our guide was knowledgeable, kind, and often funny. We stopped twice on our way to Salzburg which is understandable only because the bus was full and therefore it was good to have a second bathroom stop, although perhaps when the bus is not at capacity, one stop would be enough. In this case the second stop - very close to the city and to noon - was used for lunch, which was helpful. We (my daughters and I) really enjoyed the two + hours of free time we had in Salzburg to explore what we preferred. The stop on our way back was not so successful as the restaurant was so full of people that we didn't get out on time (15 minute delay). Great tour!
