We booked the deluxe package which included all routes, the night tour and the cruise. The buses were spotless and a great panoramic view at all seats upstairs. Ali greeted is and assisted us in exchanging our voucher with ease. He suggested upgrading to include tickets for the Palace and also for our next city Budapest which came with discounts. Great idea. The recorded commentary was excellent and on time at each sight. The night tour was brilliant. Our guide Franz was so knowledgeable and bursting with stories. Very friendly. Our only criticism is that the cruise had very little commentary so we did not know what we were passing on the banks of the river.
I enjoyed the tour very much. If you want to see a lot of the city in a short period of time, this is definitely for you. You will for sure get the best views from the bus. I felt like they will bring you almost everywhere. Next to the audio guide you will be also listening to The Blue Danube and Radetzky March for at least 15 times, which is a very nice touch and can get a little bit annoying by the end. However don't expect to actually learn a lot about history or architecture, just enjoy the ride and get a proper excursion at places you are interested in.
The Big bus tour is good but at times the bus does wait too long at stops. Also Vienna has a lot of tourist all year round so at times you need to spend considerable time at the stops to board an empty bus, especially near the Opera. Also make sure you time the bus well when going to palaces outside immediate city limits.
tracking in the BigBus Tour app didn't work for a while some confusion on the start date (due to Covid-19). On Getyourguide it said 9:00, on the service update of BigBus Tour it said 9:30, on the route overview it said 9:30 However, overall good tour, friendly drivers, good info
This was an amazing tour. Using the red and blue route buses touched all key areas and gave a good story. I also found it was slightly cheaper to buy my daily pass on here than directly from the tour company at the locations.
