What to Expect
This fully guided tour takes you on a discovery of the very best of Zimbabwe. Travel from Victoria Falls to Harare via Hwange National Park, the Matobo Hills, Great Zimbabwe, and the Eastern Highlands. Throughout the 12-day tour you will have many opportunities to admire the breathtaking landscapes in Zimbabwe as you encounter the fascinating wildlife.

Day 1: Victoria Falls
Upon arrival at Victoria Falls International Airport, you will be met by a representative and transferred to your chosen hotel. In the evening you will enjoy a spectacular sunset cruise.

Day 2: Victoria Falls
In the morning you will visit a secluded and unexplored Zimbabwean village where you will interact with the local people and experience the age old customs. Afterwards you will then enjoy a tour of Victoria Falls. You will stop at various vantage points to view the falls and walk through the rainforest while admiring the rainbows, and feeling the spray and thundering noise of the water falling into the gorge. The rest of the afternoon is spent at your leisure, with the option of booking one of the many activities with your guide.

Day 3: Victoria Falls
You will have a wide selection of adventure activities from which you can choose to take part in for the day. Optional activities include a day trip to Chobe, rafting, elephant riding, helicopter flights over the falls, lion walk experience, canoeing in the afternoon, night game drives, jet boarding, high wire experience, bungee jumping, bridge sliding, and gorge swinging.

Day 4: Victoria Falls – Hwange National Park
After breakfast you will depart for Hwange National Park, one of Africa’s finest havens for wildlife and home to herds of presidential elephants as well as many predators, endangered species, and varied birdlife. Upon arrival you will enjoy lunch overlooking the beautiful plains before proceeding on an afternoon game drive. In the evening you will enjoy dinner to the sounds of the night.

Day 5: Hwange National Park
As dawn breaks you will go on a morning game drive through the vast plains to experience the drama of the previous night. Hopefully you will view more of the many species that live in the national park as you explore the magnificent landscape. You will return to the lodge for an afternoon siesta and later proceed on an evening game drive to view the nocturnal inhabitants of Hwange National Park.

Day 6: Hwange National Park – Bulawayo
After breakfast you will depart for Bulawayo, the second largest city in Zimbabwe with wide tree-lined streets surrounded by beautiful parks. Within the city are many examples of early Victorian buildings which are maintained by the Bulawayo City Council and landlords as heritage sites. You will learn more about the beautiful country by visiting the Bulawayo National Museum and the Bulawayo Railway Museum before checking into the hotel.

Day 7: Matopos
A full day will be spent exploring the area of Matopos. Some of the highlights included cave paintings and stunning panoramas of the countryside at the World’s View. Hopefully you will catch a glimpse of black rhino and plains game but this area is mainly famous for its dense concentrations of birds of prey.

Day 8: Bulawayo – Great Zimbabwe
After breakfast you will depart for Masvingo, the ancient city where you will be inspired by the ruins of Great Zimbabwe built in 1200 AD. The ruined city of Great Zimbabwe is the largest and most significant ancient monument south of the Sahara and only second to the Egyptian pyramids. Here your guide will take you through the Acropolis, the Great Enclosure, and the Conical Tower in the afternoon before enjoying the sunset.

Day 9: Great Zimbabwe – Nyanga
After an early breakfast you will leave Masvingo and head through the diverse scenery of farm lands and rocky outcrops, and into the magnificent mountainous area of the Eastern Highlands, also known as the “little England” of Zimbabwe. Upon arrival at the hotel you will be able to take in the beautiful calm views and serene settings. Optional activities are available including horse riding, golf, and fishing.

Day 10: Nyanga
The day is yours to explore or relax as you choose. Enjoy relaxing in the hotel, stroll down to the dam to watch the rainbow trout diving through the waters, enjoy a full-day tour of Nyanga National Park, explore a village from the stone ages known as Pit Huts, or visit a rainbow trout hatchery set in the natural pools of sparkling water.

Day 11: Nyanga – Harare
Shortly after breakfast you will leave for Harare, Zimbabwe’s capital city. Enjoy a tour exposing the impeccably clean city bustling with busy shops, wide open streets, and warm hospitality. You will also visit the botanical gardens.

Day 12: Harare
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
