Make the most of your time in Verona with a local guide and see the most popular sights. Walk from Castelvecchio through the ancient Roman gate. See Piazza Erbe, the Roman amphitheater and, of course, Juliet’s balcony!
What to Expect
Take a walking tour of Verona that begins on the riverbank at Castelvecchio and heads through the Roman Borsari gate. You’ll make some unique discoveries on your way through the ancient city. See a Medusa head, a couple of enormous ammonite representations, the weather forecast stone, and the birthplace of the Italian national Christmas cake!
Visit the laid-back Piazza Erbe, most likely the oldest, continuously functioning marketplace in the world. Adjacent is the classy Piazza dei Signori, considered to the living room of the city, and home to elegant statues of poets and knights.
From here you’ll head to the Capulet house, where you can ponder why Juliet is so immensely more popular than Romeo, and learn about Juliet's Club.
The tour ends at the Roman Arena, where you’ll marvel at the imposing and surprisingly well preserved Roman amphitheater that is the true heart of Verona.
