Full description
Spend some time on the most famous Venetian islands, known throughout the world for their picturesque scenery, craft traditions, and unique history. Departing from near Saint Mark’s Square or Santa Lucia Train Station, take an enjoyable trip across Saint Mark’s Basin, towards the Lido, and then back along the north coastline of the city. On the boat, a live guide will illustrate the history of the lagoon and the three islands you will visit. Your first stop will be the island of Murano. Sometimes referred to as the “Island of the Glass,” you will visit one of its famous glass factories and see the glass being manufactured and blown. Afterward head to Torcello, the most ancient of the inhabited islands. Continue to Burano, admiring the natural environment and the minor islands spread all around you. Enjoy some free time in Burano, a typical fishing island with colorful contrasts and chocolate-box painted houses. Look out, too, for much evidence of its renowned lace making and embroidery industry and try some of Burano’s notable homemade cakes. Please note that once on the ground, this is not a guided tour. The guide will escort you to the glass factory in Murano and the lace shop in Burano. Afterward, you will have time to explore each island on your own.

It is a great way to see the whole city from the lagune. The visits to Murano, Torcello and Burano were by definition relatively short. But for 3h30 it was a packed but very informative tour. The fact that all info had been repeated in 4 languages was very tiring, but the guide as well as the listeners. Esp. if one understand 3 or more of the languages. Maybe it is time to use a headphone system with a choice of languages, as the CitySightseeing hop-on and hop-off buses do it.

Very picturesque boat tour, just a bit rushed at each location, particularly in the heat with surgical masks on. We would have preferred at least 30 minutes longer on each island. Our family got on the boat initially no problem, but it appeared that the tour was actually over-booked and several passengers were left behind at the boarding gate (not sure what happened to them)

The journey for itself was good. The boat was punctual every time and the respect of the sanitary recommendations was closely respected. Although, it was impossible to understand what the guide was saying because of the high noise of the boat. Finally, 45’ are not much. I would say that, to take it easily, 1h is required for each island.
