What People Are Saying About Vatican Museums

Fantastic sites to see and had an amazing tour guide

This is an absolute must see when visiting Rome. I suggest you book this as your first place to visit when arriving at Rome as it can be unpredictable opening times and you wouldn't want to miss it. A walk up the many tiny winding steps to the top of St. Peter's basilica is optional but worth it for the view of the city. You need a good few hours set a side to see all this venue has to offer. The guided tour from when in Rome tours is highly recommended - many other tours available are not worth the bother as they do not have head sets like this tour so can't hear them and the tour guide themselves can be a bit hit and miss as they don't always speak English very well so can hardly understand them and walk out knowing nothing more other than what you could have read on information boards. This tour agency however are very organised, and the tour guide Christine from the USA was amazing very knowledgeable and certainly gives you an enjoyable tour you are in good hands with her.

Full Vatican and Colosseum 2-in-1 Skip-the-Line Ticket Reviewed by a GetYourGuide Customer, 09/26/2016

Vatican was very good, did not expect second half to be self guided.

The guide for the Vatican half was very well informed and did a very good job of keeping the group together. We had thought the Colosseum half was also a guided tour but it was totally at our own discretion, not even including an audio guide.

Knowledgeable tour guides, entertaining tours

Both the tour guide for the Vatican and the Colosseum let us know their qualifications prior to the tour starting. Both of them gave us good insights into some of the meaning and motivation behind various pieces of artwork, etc. which greatly enhanced the experience. The group size for the Vatican was around 15, small enough to be manageable, and only 6 for the Colosseum, which gave us ample opportunity to ask questions, which were all answered very well. Thumbs up from me!

Excellent guides both around the city and in the Vatican

Excellent service, could not be improved upon with both guides. Our guide arrived at our hotel 15 minutes early and as we were ready we left. There was a bottle of water for each of us. The Mercedes sedan was perfect for 2 and was comfortable to ride in. We were escorted inside the coleseum with an informative narrative there was unrest in the city so he was careful to avoid the targeted areas. We picked up our guide for the afternoon tour of the Vatican and after that tour our driver/guide was there to meet us. We were extremely happy with the entire day. We knew our guides liked what they were doing as evidenced in their knowledge and their enthusiasm
