Full description
After you have entered and received your headset, travel to the Pio Clementino Museum, the most complex of the Vatican. It is there you discover the statue that inspired Michelangelo and many other artists, the Belvedere Torso, a fragmentary marble statue of an unknown male. Following that, be amazed by the octagonal court, tour through the Round Room, and start a journey around what seems to be never-ending beautifully decorated galleries. The three galleries, maps, tapestries, and Candelabra display to you the best-decorated gold ceilings that you will see inside the Vatican. You then travel to the Raphael Rooms, one of the Vatican's most famous and well know Stanzes. Whilst there, learn all about Raphael's 4 rooms, and even spot Aristotle and Platone in one of his most famous frescoes. It's then time to visit the unique Sistine Chapel. Marvel at the 68-foot-high ceiling, including the famous image depicting the relationship between God and Adam. Discover all nine representations of the Genesis, and let your tour guide astonish you with the many stories behind the creation of this marvelous fresco. It won't be only the ceiling that will leave you speechless, as you take a look behind to discover the Last Judgment, also painted by Michelangelo, standing more than 40 feet tall and covering the whole altar. Marvel at the projection of Michelangelo's imagination of the second coming of Christ, as well as the final and eternal Judgement by God of all human beings. Later, take advantage of another VIP no-line access and enter St. Peter's Basilica. Travel at your own pace through the basilica, taking the time to enjoy marvelous art such as Michelangelo's Pietà and Bernini's Baldachin. Don't forget to visit the Pope's crypts that lay underneath the Basilica, or climb St. Peter's Dome for magnificent views over St. Peter's Square and Rome. The tour finishes in St. Peter’s Square from where you can admire Bernini’s clever optical illusion, spot the balcony from which the Pope delivers his public addresses, and take photos of the imposing exterior of the basilica.
