Cruise to the island of Cayo Blanco on a 5-hour catamaran tour from Varadero. Discover spectacular reef formations after lunch and some time on the beach. Swim and snorkel with dolphins, and look for extraordinary coral gardens in the Caribbean Sea.
What to Expect
Discover the off-shore reef formations of Cayo Blanco, a spectacular island and marine reserve in the Gulf of Calzones, just east of Varadero.
Travel by catamaran, departing from Marina Gaviota. Relax as you are serenaded by music, and enjoy all the facilities, such as an open bar serving soft drinks, beer, and Cuban cocktails. On arrival at Cayo Blanco, also known as Ernst Thälmann Island and named after a German Communist politician, enjoy a seafood lunch (lobster, shrimp and fish) and some free time on the beach.
Then, swim with dolphins and snorkel above the most beautiful coral reef in the north central region of Cuba. The highly developed reefs boast high levels of biodiversity and a number of endangered species. Look out for ornamental reef fish and rare black coral, along with indigenous iguanas that sometimes hide in the rocks.
