Muck was a great guide who clearly knew his content. He was super friendly and really engaged with our four kids, answering all their questions. He was a fount of knowledge about Uluru, from the geological Origins to the fascinating cultural significances to the local Anangu people. Mick shared with us many of the important legends and stories and was very respectful of the several areas where some information and pictures are forbidden. Mick even dropped in a lost hat one of our kids left on the coach later that evening and sent us a direct message to ensure we picked it up at reception of our hotel! We finished up the day with a great view of Uluru at sunset, along with some light refreshments, soft drinks a for the kids and some nibbles for the adults.
The tour begins with pickup from select accommodations in Yulara, 1.5 hours before the sunrise, and heads to Talinguru Nyakunytjaku, a viewing area near Uluru. When the sun rises, watch the landscape be transformed with color as the light touches the desert plains and shines on Uluru. At the end of a magical sunrise, be dropped off back at your accommodation.

The walk was very rocky - and uphill so Moderate as described. A Very interesting pattern of vegetation with actual small trees at the end and a small waterhole. Recent rains meant lots of lovely flowers around and flocks of tiny birds. We were allowed to walk by ourselves at our own pace , the driver did not talk continuously, and he let us stop by the viewing platform, all of which was excellent. This walk, coupled with the separate extended 36min helicopter ride over the Olga's where we could see where we walked, was awesome, and I appreciated the many features of the Olga's probably more than Uluru itself.
You HAVE to do this! We are so glad we booked this fun tour. The segues are super easy to master and the tour track was so smooth. Our guide, Emma, was really friendly, knowledgeable and taught us so much about Uluru that we never would have learned on our own. It will definitely be a highlight of our NT road trip.
