Itinerary We will meet at the indicated time in the main square of Trujillo, and from there we will go to the archaeological site of the Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon. Next to the remains of these ancient huacas or sanctuaries, we will learn what society was like in the Trujillo Valley during the pre-Columbian Moche period. We will continue the tour visiting the Huaca del Arco Iris, also known as Huaca del Dragon. In this archaeological site we will explain the beliefs and traditions of another pre-Columbian people: the members of the Chimu culture. We will also stop in front of the stelae and murals found in this site to try to decipher their dragons and other sacred forms carved in adobe. The next stop will take place in Huanchaco, a picturesque fishing village where we will see its traditional fishing boats, the Caballitos de Totora. In this fishing town we will leave you free time for lunch. After lunch we will visit the ancient citadel of Chan Chan, built by the Chimúes. Today, this great complex, declared a World Heritage Site, is the largest adobe city in the Americas. During the tour of this architectural jewel, we will visit the walls of Nik An, the ceremonial squares, the granaries and the ancient cemeteries. At the end of the guided tour of Chan Chan we will return to the main square of Trujillo, where we will arrive at 6:00 pm.

10:30 We head to the Moche countryside and appreciate the way of life of the Mocheros, both in their craftsmanship, expressed in the manufacture of ceramics, leather work, wood and stone carvings, basketry, and others, and in their gastronomy. Finally we arrived at the Huacas del sol y la luna, considered a Mochica sanctuary made up of a set of monuments that physically represented the capital of the Mochica Culture since the 1st century BC. C. until the 9th century. Time to lunch, We headed to the Chanchan sites museum, which displays various original objects found at Chan Chan. Then we continue towards Chanchan, made up of 9 citadels or palaces. Each one has similar formal characteristics such as: its monumental scale, very restricted access, the complexity and elaboration of its architectural forms. We continue the tour arriving at Huanchaco, a traditional fishing cove, whose inhabitants to this day preserve many of the customs of their Mochica ancestors; so much so that the tiny boats called "caballitos" made of reeds continue to be the main work tool of the current Huanchaquero fisherman. 6:00 pm End the tour.

Discover the wonders hidden within the El Brujo Archaeological Complex and learn about the Mochica culture on a guided tour with roundtrip transportation from Trujillo. See the towering Huaca Cao Viejo and study illustrations of geometric figures inscribed on walls. After pickup from Trujillo, depart towards the Chicama Valley, located about 33 kilometers north of Trujillo, to visit El Brujo Archaeological Complex. This ancient site has three main monuments: Huaca Prieta, Huaca Cao Viejo, and Huaca Cortada. In 1990, the excavations began and discovered the Huaca Cao Viejo, a pyramid that reaches 46 meters in height. See walls decorated with friezes and reliefs of colors that portray complex scenes and geometric figures. The Wiese Foundation has been in charge, along with National Geographic, to show the amazing discovery of a tomb that belongs to a pre-Columbia woman and leader in the fourth century. Enter inside the Museum of Cao and admire ancient objects. Discover the mystery of the mummy unearthed in this fantastic complex, The Lady of Cao, which is circa 1,700 years old. The mummy has been well-preserved due to an ancestral ritual. Afterward, make a last stop at the small town of Magdalena de Cao, located 5 kilometers from the El Brujo complex, and taste a traditional drink known as chicha de jora. The fermentation process lasts 1 year under ancestral methods. Later, head back to the city of Trujillo for drop-off.

Your experience begins with pickup from your accommodation in Trujillo at around 10:00AM. From there, depart for Campiña de Moche, a 20-minute drive away. Once there, begin with the Huacas de Moche Museum, where you can appreciate archaeological remain exhibited in three rooms. Following that, proceed to Huaca de La Luna, a religious architectural complex made of adobe, where the image of their deity Aia Paec is displayed. On top of that, iconography of warriors, dancers, spiders, and snakes can also be spotted. From the highest level of the Huaca de la Luna, you can see the 43-meter-high Huaca del Sol, which is used for administrative purposes for research. Next, travel to a restaurant where you are gifted time to enjoy lunch. Following lunch at 2:45PM, begin your Chan Chan tour with a visit to Huaca Arco Iris. This site is in the district of Hope and is also known as the Huaca del Dragon; dedicated to the rainbow as a symbol of fertility. Later, travel to the Chan Chan Site Museum, where ceramics, textiles, metal works, and construction materials are exhibited. In the second room you can see the pre-Hispanic cultural development of the region, before you finish with the room in which the Chimú story is told through projections of lights and sound effects. At the conclusion of your day, return to the city of Trujillo at 6:00PM.

-We will start this excursion from the meeting point at the Plaza de Armas of Trujillo at 10:20 a.m. -We will travel for more than 1 hour and our first stop will be the town of Magdalena de Cao, here we will learn a little about the history of the town, its traditions and others. -We will continue with the Archaeological Complex El Brujo, we will visit the Museum of the Señora de Cao, surrounded by jewels, earrings, crowns, necklaces and other precious things. -Then we will continue with the Huaca Cao, here we will appreciate the Tomb of the Señora de Cao. -Stop in Magdalena de Cao to taste its gastronomy on your own. -Return to Trujillo square, arrival time 5:00 pm.

Itinerary The tour starts at 2:00 pm, we will meet at the Plaza de Armas in Trujillo to go to the Casa Campo Alcor, a center dedicated to the breeding and care of Peruvian horses. Peruvian Paso horses are characterized by their particular way of walking sideways, known as paso llano. We will have the opportunity to watch a show of these horses led by their "chalanes", as the Paso Paso horse riders are known, while we enjoy the majesty and harmony of their trot. We will also have the opportunity to see a marinera show, the national dance of Peru, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Nation.0 The marinera with Peruvian Paso horses is one of the great tourist attractions of Trujillo and this region of the country. It is performed in pairs and accompanied by music while the dancers and riders dressed in typical costumes show their graceful and elegant movements. After the show, which will last between 30 and 45 minutes, we will return to Trujillo, and we will say goodbye at 4:00 p.m. at the same point of departure. Today we explore north of Trujillo to visit the Huaca Dragon, also known as Huaca Arco Iris (Rainbow Pyramid), which belonged to the Chimu culture.This huaca is closed at moment by pandemia and it could be open soon.(ask if it already open ) We replace it by Chan Chan Site Museum which keep some artifacts found in chan chan excavations over 40 years. After This we continue to Chan Chan, the largest adobe city in America and then we drive to Huanchaco for some photos with ancients reed boats called : Caballitos de Totora

The temples of the Sun and the Moon, a religious center for the Moche culture, which developed between 100 and 900 AD. The archaeological complex shows the two large pyramids with flat tops, known as huacas. Then we drive north of Trujillo to visit the Huaca Dragon, also known as Huaca Arco Iris (Rainbow Pyramid), which belonged to the Chimu culture. After lunch we continue to Chan Chan, the largest adobe city in America, built by the Chimu and covering an area of about 20 square kilometres. We continue up, to the ancient fishing village of Huanchaco for a good lunch based in see food or just photos (depend of time ). Huanchaco is of the most famous beaches of Peru, where you can see the traditional fishing boats (caballitos de totora) which are still in use Today. Back to Salaverry Port

Finally we arrived at the Huacas del sol y de la luna, considered a Mochica sanctuary made up of a set of monuments that physically represented the capital of the Mochica Culture since the 1st century BC. We will make a stop at the Paso Horse Breeders Association “Casa Alcor”, a place where we will appreciate the spectacle of Peruvian Paso Horses and Northern Marinera for 40 continuous minutes. Time for lunch Then we continue to Chanchan, made up of 9 citadels or palaces. Early in the morning, a guide will pick you up from your hotel, and take you to explore the Moche Valley, located in the northern of Peru, and is the place where the pre-Inca Moche and Chimú cultures emerged. We will start at the Sun & Moon Huacas, which includes two large truncated pyramids, the Huaca Las Estrellas, Huaca del Cerro Blanco, the geoglyph of the Spider, and others buildings located in front of Cerro Blanco and near the Moche River. Then, you will stop in a traditional workshop of a traditional Moche family. After visiting the pyramids, you will visit Chan Chan archaeological zone and the Nik-An Palace, the largest mud city in the world and most populated on the north coast among the 600 and 700 AD. Then, you will have lunch at a local restaurant in the fishermen`s spa of Huanchaco, and its famous Totora horses. Then, you will be taken back to your hotel. The Sun Huaca was used as a political-administrative center, and the Moon Huaca as a ceremonial temple. Located in the Moche Valley in the coastal desert near Trujillo, these archaeological complexes were built by the Moche civilizations. The Huaca del Dragon was a religious monument, administrative and ceremonial center, and it has amazing murals. Chan Chan is a pre-Columbian adobe city, and it was declared as a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1986.
