Full description
Set sail on a hybrid electric catamaran cruise for the Arctic waters and observe marine animals in their natural habitat. Watch orcas and humpback whales feed in the icy fjords and admire the stunning landscapes around you. Depart from Tromsø in the morning, and head out to where the whales are in time to enjoy the short hours of daylight. Take in the breathtaking views of frozen landscapes in comfortable, panoramic lounges, and multi-level decks. Find a selection of food and drinks for purchase on board. Sail for about 3 to 3.5 hours to reach the whales and spend about 1 to 1.5 hours with them. The boat uses a hybrid engine to reach their feeding grounds. As you near the whales, the captain will switch to a silent electric engine that allows you to get close without disturbing them. Note: Please bring warm cloths, including your wool and equivalent. We sail in the arctic waters, and its cold, especially out at sea. Our saloons are heated and comfortable, but its cold outside.
Includes

  • Heated indoor saloons with panoramic windows

The hosts Franck, François and Veronica were great; we could feel their enthusiasm in explaining everything to us about whales and orcas! The trip from the port of Tromso was epic but a little noisy, too bad the boat is not 100% electric, maybe it will happen one day! As for our trip, we were lucky and saw quite a few orcas, don't expect to see many whales, they are shy and avoid the slightest sound that disturbs them, we were able to see the back of a whale humpback at the end of our journey. In short, good excursion with passionate tradespeople, 7.5/10 for us and thank you to the team!

Amazing day out on the sea! The landscape when sailing through the fjords is a sightseeing tour on its own. The guides were very knowledgeable and gave several great presentations on the local history and environment, whale species and populations in the area, as well as information on the importance of whales for the entire ocean ecosystem and climate change. As someone who works in this field, I found the information very well presented! We ended up seeing a pod of orcas but didn’t get to spend a long time watching them (note the journey to and from the popular feeding area takes a long time). Also, delicious soup on board :)

We did the tour at the end of November and we could see a lot of orcas (and one humpback whale). The landscapes all along the way were also worth it! All the members of the team were really nice, and giving very interesting explanations. Doing a whale watchig tour is imprescindible if you go to Tromsø! Thank you!
