Full description

Discover a Sámi reindeer camp with this unique tour from Tromsø. Travel to the camp at Breivikeidet to feed the reindeer. Have the chance to see the northern lights and experience eating Bithos (a traditional Sámi dish). Meet your guide and travel to camp Breivikeidet which is surrounded by mountains. Step off the bus and admire the view of the Lyngen Alps. Follow your guide to the reindeer fence to pet and feed the reindeer. Learn about these animals from your guide. Spot the dancing Aurora should it be out. It's an excellent place to spot the Aurora in the night sky above your head as there is little artificial light. Continue to an authentic Gamme (traditional Sámi housing). Get cozy as you savor Bithos, which is a meal only reserved for special occasions. Hear about what life is like in the Arctic for the Sámi people. Listen to a joik (Sámi folk music). Return to Tromsø.

I was a bit afraid that it will be a bit of a tourist trap, but the truth is that we all enjoyed it very much. All webt easy and smooth, they brought us in a comfy bus to the place, we could fed and pat the animals and they had a couple of fireplaces outside for us. Inside the wooden house, was cosy and nice. The food was very tasty and we could eat as much as we wanted. The talk with the sami guide was also very interesting and the sami guide was so nice and chatty. We were very happy with the experience. Thanks!

Der Ausflug zu den Rentieren hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Abholung und Transport haben reibungslos funktioniert. Der Transport dauert vom Abholpunkt aus ca. 50 Minuten mit einem Reisebus. Man kann viel Zeit mit den Rentieren verbringen und sich nach Belieben mit Getränken versorgen. Die Tiere sind sehr zutraulich und fressen aus der Hand. Zum Essen wurde neben dem traditionellen Rentiergericht auch eine vegetarische Alternative (Gemüsesuppe) angeboten. Der Aufenthalt wurde von einem Sami begleitet. Seine Geschichten über die Samitradition waren sehr interessant, sind jedoch leider etwas kurz ausgefallen. Man konnte sich aber traditionelle Kleidungsstücke ansehen. Glücklicherweise konnten wir die Nördlichter vor Ort sowie auf der Rückfahrt mehrfach sehen. Auf die Nördlichter ist der Guide allerdings nicht speziell eingegangen. Die Toilettensituation ist schwierig.

Super activité, c’est juste dommage que ça soit le soir, on voit pas très bien les rennes malgré le gros spot lumineux. Mais le nourrissage des rennes est très bien et on peut rester avec eux plus on moins le temps qu’on veut. Le repas propose une option végétarienne qui est très appréciable. Je dirais que le prix est un peu exagéré, mais cela reste une expérience fun à faire.
