From Florence: Tuscany Day Trip with Optional Lunch and Wine

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is so iconic that it's easy to forget just what a strange building it really is. In case you didn't know, it's the bell tower of Pisa's cathedral, and it has a history as peculiar as its characteristic tilt!
The Leaning Tower of Pisa is tilted because the foundations are softer on one side than the other. This started decades before its original construction was finished in 1372!
Construction was delayed by Pisa's wars against its neighbors, allowing the foundations' soil to settle. If the tower had been finished on schedule, it would have fallen over!
Recent studies favor the enigmatic Diotisalvi over the previously credited Pisano brothers, although he usually signed his buildings. Was he too embarassed to leave his mark?
The Leaning Tower of Pisa experiment helped prove Galileo's laws of free fall. However, with no account from the great scientist himself, most historians doubt it actually happened!
The Leaning Tower of Suurhusen is the world's most unintentionally tilted building. Second place is also taken by the Germans, with the steeple of Bad Frankenhausen's Oberkirche!
Go in mid-June to experience Pisa's Luminara festival on June 16th, and the San Ranieri Day parade on the 17th. The best time of day to visit the Leaning Tower depends on what you want out of the trip. Early birds will beat the crowds, but you should check the weather first as it'll likely be clearer later on. Important if you want to get some decent selfies!
The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a relatively easy walk north from Pisa Centrale station, though buses are also available from the bus stop in front of the Jolly Hotel (right across from Pisa Centrale). Pisan buses are sorted by color rather than number, so look out for one with the red LAM sign (LAM rossa) on the front. Alight at the stop "Torre."
You'll need to be pretty fit to climb the Leaning Tower. If you're not sure, take the north-facing staircase to the top. It has two fewer steps (294 as opposed to 296)!

I will start off by saying that this store has an error on the title, the wine in chianti is not included and we did not find out until the end which was misleading and disappointing HOWEVER this was not the fault of the tour guides but the website. The tour guide we had was awesome, The day he had planned for us went very well. Use really nice and explain things as we moved a long. One of the things that I appreciated was that he give us our own time to check out the areas, I've been another tours with a talk too much and they don't give you as much free time which can get annoying however with this to her in each area they give us plenty of time to do our own thing. I would highly recommend this tour for someone who is trying to squeeze these three towns in a day. We were thinking about doing this our selves however it would not have been possible in a lot of time it been wasted trying to figure things out.
Absolutely amazing experience. We had Alessandro as a guide and he was so much fun, knowledgeable, and just a wonderful person all around. The tour was very well organized with plenty of time at each stop. Lunch at a local farm was very delicious. Emiliano was our driver and he did a superb job navigating winding roads.Highly recommend this tour and company!
The tour was brilliant. The highlight of our trip to be honest. Olivia was fantastic. Sienna was beautiful, the farm was amazing, with delicious wine, food and views. Of course Pisa was gorgeous too and the leaning tower topped off a great day.
Very well organized tour which gives you an opportunity to explore Tuscany. Olivia was an amazing guide who gave who made sure the tour is running smoothly. We enjoyed the tour and would definitely recommend to everyone.
Booked this very last minute. But couldn’t happier we did. Had a great tour guide in Lavi, great energy and very knowledgeable! Honestly a great day out to see that part of Italy
