Sol, the tour guide was in my opinion quite disorganized and was unable to sustain the attention and interests of the group. With limited time, she could have managed the tour better. At times we would be walking for long periods of time in extreme cold weather. We had to switch buses. She was knowledgeable but lacked people skills. I would prefer someone far pleasant and interesting. We were not able to visit the inside of churches except maybe for one so my goal to compare churches was not fulfilled.
Toledo is a fabulous place not to be missed. Our tour was a little misleading. A group of 10’got on the bus with no guide but we had all booked different tours. We saw only 2 monuments and were then left to do the rest on our own. Probably some info from the bus driver on pick up to let us know what was happening as we didn’t get guide till Toledo. Juan was excellent!
Benny was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and was able to provide facts and answer questions. He was able to direct the various groups on the tour very efficiently as not everyone had purchased the full tour. He also needed to provide the tour in English and Spanish and this did not take away from the tour.
El Escorial is a must see place. The arrangements were very good but the guide was in a mighty rush and was walking well ahead of the group, mostly talking to herself. A little more patience on her part would have left a much better impression on all in the group.
This is a nice day trip. The bus ride is about and hour long. The walking tour is informative and necessary as the little streets are confusing. The wine tasting was a nice way to socialize with other members of the group and the wine was tasty!
