Awesome tour! Our guide Ryan was very knowledgeable and friendly. I’m glad we did this on our first day because this is our first visit to the country and we got all our dumb tourist questions about Tokyo and Japan answered by Ryan, who speaks perfect English. This is a must see when the cherry blossoms are blooming along the river, illuminated by these traditional Japanese lanterns. So beautiful! We went to other famous Sakura viewing areas during our stay in Tokyo but this was the most impressive. The river area was packed with locals taking photos, so I would guess many locals would agree

Start your tour by walking through the busy streets of Shinjuku heading straight for Omoide Yokocho (literally “Memory Lane”) as your first stop. Many of these bars still stay true to their roots, serving roasted giblets with beef and pork, which was a staple when food was scarce after World War II. From there you will make your way to Kabukicho, Asia’s largest, yet safest, red light district stopping at a kushikatsu stall for some authentic regional cuisine called kushikatsu (specialty food from Osaka of deep-fried skewered meat and vegetables). Each of the guests will get 4 kushikatsu and 1 drink. From here you will walk through the rest of Kabukicho, weaving in and out to give guests a sense o...

I met my guide at the designated meeting place near the station. She was early so we had extra time to get acquainted. I was the only on the tour so Kazumi was very flexible to my interests. She was informative, engaging, and warm - all along expressing her genuine love for the city and showing non-locals the insiders’ way around the market. She was prepared with literature, graphics and pictures. We had fantastic treats - exceptional quality of ingredients. I recommend this tour with Kazumi. One small recommendation: I would suggest shifting the tour time slightly to bridge the lunch time opening of some establishments in order to timely spread the tastings before, during, and after the lunch period.

My tour guide was Patrick. I can only recommend him to everyone, he knows Tokyo very well and was able to show me many places that I would never have found on my own. The food, drink and the trip through the alleys - everything was just awesome!

Thanks to Toshi-san. He gave us a lot of interresting information about the market during the tour. Arigato gozaimasu!

Valentina was lovely! She was personable, engaging, attentive and so much fun!
