Full description
Your meeting point is in front of the Asakusa tourist information center. Following a brief introduction you will head up to the top floor of the Information Center for wonderful views, overlooking the area in which your tour will take place. Your tour will then continue to the Kaminarimon Gate, also known as Thunder Gate, where you can take a few pictures before continuing onto Nakamise Street.
Nakamise is an old yet still hustling-and-bustling shopping street in Japan. Over 90 shops and food stalls are lined up between the gate and the main hall of the temple. On the way to the temple you can stop and look for souvenirs, and can also opt to try some local delicacies.
At the Sensoji Temple your guide will explain and demonstrate the proper way to behave and pray at both a Buddhist Temple as well as a Shinto Shrine. You can enjoy the old architectural style by viewing the 5-story pagoda and the Hozomon Gate, and following a short walk to the rather quiet and serene Sumider Park by the Sumida River, you will see more modern architectural styles. As you return to the tour starting point, your tour will come to an end.
