What People Are Saying About The Shard
Really nice. Specially my cousin from Australia was with me and he was very impressed same time I felt proud to show him around
We visited at night and although a little cloudy it was still wonderful to see London from a great height. Drinking champagne was an added bonus.
Wow, it was amazing so well organised, friendly & helpful staff allowed to stroll around with free audio guide at own pace, refreshments & facilities available. Interactive & free telescopes in many languages to help you spot landmarks. Fun facts on each side of Shard, even saw the window cleaners in action who were friendly & smiled for the cameras.
I don't understand why it costs so much - we did spend an hour on the 2 viewing platforms, as the view was impressive; however, information about the building was almost completely lacking, which was disappointing. A friend who went soon after it opened said there was a small museum/display about the building, but all we found was a shop, not selling anything we might want to buy. I had bought 'The View' (again very expensive), and we found some errors/omissions. Eg the Globe was just visible, but is not shown, the Oxo Tower is now hidden by a new building, Southwark Cathedral is not named, though very visible just below The Shard; this photo sheet needs to be updated every few months, as new buildings are appearing all the time!
Cheapest tickets available for the Shard and accessible up to late the night before the visit. Second time I have used 'get your guide' for tickets.
