What People Are Saying About The Hague
Very presentable great knowledge of the towns and their history, Nothing was to much trouble.
Gerk picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel in Central Amsterdam in a private car. He gave us a wonderful walking tour in both the Hague and Delft. The highlight of the trip was the visit to Mauritshuis which among many others has three Vermeer paintings and the "Goldfinch" by Fabritius. Also and in my opinion, not to be missed, the Escher museum which was also one of the Royal residences is a must see if you like Escher. An excellent and very pleasant way to see the Hague and Delft. Also very reasonable price for a private tour. Gerk is a very nice and pleasant fellow to spend the day with, you will enjoy your trip.
Gerk did a great job of getting us to the Hague and Delft from Amsterdam and answering all our questions about Dutch history and culture. We thoroughly enjoyed our day, and our teenaged kids did as well. We were able to stay as long as we wanted at the Maritshuis in the Hague to see the incredible collection, and then lunched on the square there before proceeding to Delft to see the churches and old town. We saw a lot in the 8 hours from our 9:30 hotel pickup in Amsterdam to our 5:30 dropoff at the end of the day. I wish we had booked Gerk's windmill tour as well.
Gerk was a courteous, knowledgeable guide. Spending the day with him was an enjoyable experience for my wife and me. He was flexible and adapted to our "shopping needs" (When in Delft etc etc) It was much more like spending the day with a friend from Holland than with a guide. He is highly recommended.
Nothwithstanding the rain, Gerk's tour of The Hague was memorable. His knowledge par excellence. We were to go to Delft but my wife's walking disability on the day prevented this. As an alternative Gerk took us to some dyke sited villages north of Amsterdam and these were sensational. This allowed my wife to be able to get around in somewhat lesser distances than going to Delft. Overall a very enjoyable small group tour.
