Visit Kinderdijk and get the extraordinary opportunity to visit a UNESCO World Heritage in Holland. In 1997, the windmill complex of Kinderdijk was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list because of its unique character. UNESCO considers the polder area with its dikes, mills, and pumping stations to be proof of human inventiveness in reclaiming and protecting the land.
Upon arrival in Kinderdijk, your personal guide will take you to the visitor’s center which is located in an old pumping station. Watch the film about the Kinderdijk area before walking through the area. If possible, you will have the chance to visit a working windmill from the inside, depending on how busy it is.
Returning to The Hague you will be dropped-off at Madurodam to explore the park at your own pace. Feel like a mighty giant as you stroll past small-scale (1:25) replicas of famous Dutch landmarks like the Port of Rotterdam and the Rijksmuseum.
Admire little Amsterdam and enjoy the vibrant colors of tulip fields. Take in the atmosphere and marvel at the signature Dutch windmills in verdant fields. Discover remarkable Dutch stories like how it is manageable to live below sea level. Did you know New York used to be Dutch? You will find out in Madurodam’s attractions.
Don’t forget to bring your camera, this is an experience you don’t want to forget.
