Full-day tour to Cafayate, Winery Visit and Wine Tasting

Renowned for its dazzling landscapes and its high altitude viticulture, this corner of Salta captivates both for the quality of its wines and the warmth of its people, the Cafayateños, heirs of a land bathed by the sun and good wine. The journey begins in the vibrant city of Salta, to take the iconic National Route 68 that winds through the picturesque towns of the Lerma Valley, such as Cerrillos, La Merced, El Carril, Coronel Moldes and La Viña. These towns, with their leisurely pace and deep roots, have inspired the songs and poetry that give life to Salta's folklore, evoking a past full of stories and emotions. As we advance, the landscape begins to transform with the entrance to the imposing Quebrada de las Conchas. In the distance, the silhouette of the old Alemania Station welcomes us to a world where the colors and shapes of nature seem to belong to another planet. Here, the rocks have been sculpted over millions of years by the elements, and every bend in the road reveals a new wonder. Among the most outstanding geological treasures, the excursion takes us to explore the imposing Devil's Throat and the mystical Amphitheater, formations that tell the story of a past where the region was a dense tropical paradise. As we ascend to the highest point of the trail at Tres Cruces, the landscape opens up before us, with breathtaking views that herald the arrival of other iconic natural sculptures such as El Sapo, El Fraile, La Casa de los Loros, the majestic Yesera, El Obelisco, Las Ventanas and the imposing Castillos. Each of these formations has been shaped by the wind as if an invisible artist had carved them with devotion. Finally, we arrive in Cafayate, a place where the senses awaken. The vibrant main square invites us to immerse ourselves in its gastronomic and musical offerings, but it is the aroma and taste of the famous Torrontés wine that marks the true beginning of this experience. During the visit to the wineries, the Calchaquí sun, the pure air and the high altitude vineyards combine to offer us a unique tasting, which summarizes the very essence of Cafayate. The return along the same route allows us to rediscover these landscapes in a completely new way. Well planned out and executed trip. Our guide Monica was very informative and flexible. She also spoke perfect English and as I found out is also an English and History teacher. She gave us all a personal and historical interpretation of the beautiful landscapes and people encountered that day, along with playing music and showing us films of the amazing sites. Incredibly worthwhile. Thank you!!!

Wonderful trip - all went smoothly and we had a fab day for it with clear blue skies. Jonathan is an excellent guide - so knowledgeable about the park, its history and the wildlife, and very organised. Thank you for a great experience. Sandra, Wellington, NZ

I liked the excursions to the Salinas Grandes and to Cachi the most! Unfortunately, I wasn't that impressed with Cafayate, but as a solo traveler I still had a great time on all 4 days!

Very well organized, punctual which is rare in Argentina. The explanations were very good in English and Spanish.

We had an exceptionally good guide who made the trip so interesting!
