The day started with the great office in downtown Houston. Houston city tour was fabulous. The city tour bus driver was amazing and detailed for explaining everything very well. After the City tour completed, the trip to NASA was very nice and had great trip to NASA. One thing we were not told about the control center for NASA trip requires a separate entry ticket (no cost) but it needs to be required when you have NASA ticket purchased. So in future the tours company should be purchasing block of tickets for their tourists so people coming from out of town do have that attraction available to visit at NASA. Lines were very very big so plan to go early in order to cover everything at NASA.
90 minutes city tour was an enjoyable to discover hidden Houston which tourist may not be able to know eg Underground tunnel and the marvelous architect buildings in Houston. NASA tour of course is a must to join to explore the tram tour in understanding more on Mission Space Center and Astronaut training center. However, 4 hours in NASA is insufficient to view all detail exhibits as the tram tours already cover 2 hours. It would be better to have 5 hours NASA tour.
Enjoyed the City tour for a brief Houston overview. Thanks to Austin the young guide. The Space Centre visit was superb. Getting into the original Mission Control including Apollo 13 room and later to the controls and payload area inside the shuttle Independence were lifetime experiences. Add getting alongside the massive Saturn 5 rocket and plenty more made this a memorable experience beyond expectation. A don't miss if in the Houston area.
Looking at the Hilton Hotel, go to the right to catch this tour. Lots of buses on the other side, so it is a bit confusing. Antonio was great, kept us well informed and gave us cold water, it was very hot, so you should take a hat. The bus upstairs only has a couple of seats at the front that have shade. We transferred to the bus to be taken to NASA. Dropped off and told to be back waiting at 4.30. All very straight forward.
need to organize better. After city tour, I asked driver whether I have time for bathroom break and he said yes. After finish bathroom, I barely made to the bus as the driver was about to leave. I almost couldn't catch the bus to nasa space center which is the reason I am here in Houston. need to organize better.
