Located in the Guanacaste Volcanic Mountain Range, this park has a rainforest that protects species of wildlife of regional importance. Within the area, the Tenorio Volcano, with its four cones, it offers natural scenic overlooks that allow appreciate the plains of the Pacific and Caribbean. "It is a magical place that offers a variety of possibilities to appreciate the wonders of nature and difficult to find phenomena. This is, without a doubt, one of the most incredible places in Costa Rica; where magnificent turquoise waters combine with the lush, surrounding nature. Located on the slopes of Tenorio Volcano, this unique river amazes guests with its incomparable beauty. The walk begins with a 7 km (4.3 mi.) long trail through the rainforest. Along the way, you will going to sea several sites of interest, starting with a visit to the magical waterfall of the Celeste River, followed by the Blue Lagoon, formed by a calm river breach, and the viewpoint of the Tenorio Volcano and its surrounding hills. Later, you will find one of the highlights of the walk, "The Teñideros" (the Dyeing Pot) where the river acquires its characteristic color. As you conclude the hike, you will coming back to the entracy walking along the river banks, admiring its bubbling waters, thermal water springs, and the beautiful natural environment.

Expereince the rush of spilling over the rapids of the turquoise Celeste River on this tubing tour in Katira. Along the way, visit the lagoon and Los Teñideros, where two streams with different minerals and chemical compositions meet and change color to form a heavenly turquoise blue. The last stop of the day is at the magnificent Rio Celeste Waterfall. A short hike will bring you back for lunch at the Don Alexis Farm, where you can swim in the river and refresh after this great day.

The Celeste River Tubing experience is a unique experience where you will be able to observe the majestic Celeste River and its beautiful nature around the jungle. During a descent of about an hour and a half, in a Tubing we will venture into the rapids and natural pools where we can swim and jump from the banks of the river, During the tour you will have the chance to see a great variety of animals such as sloths, frogs, butterflies and sloths, frogs, butterflies and many birds due to the extensive vegetation of the the extensive vegetation of the Celeste River. You will always be with your local tour guide who knows very well the rapids of the river and the whole adventure. The experience lasts approximately an hour and a half or a few hours.

Once we arrive to the Río Celeste National Park, you may use the facilities to get ready and look at the information booth provided by the Río Celeste National Park. We will then begin a hike through the dense, lush, tropical rainforest that surrounds the Río Celeste National Park. The hike is approximately 3-miles long and considered intermediate. You and your naturalist guide go at your own pace and you'll learn interesting things about the rainforest along the way. We then arrive to "Los Teñíderos" where two rivers come together to form the celestial, turquoise blue water color that gives the waterfall its name "Celeste." We'll return, walking back through the Rio Celeste National Park to the "Ollas" -- or mud baths -- and take a moment to relax in the natural hot springs. For the grand finale, we then walk-on further to see the spectacular Río Celeste waterfall - the perfect place to take photos. We finish off with a delicious lunch at a local restaurant and then head back to La Fortuna. Please note: the Río Celeste waterfall may lose its blue color during rainstorms. Our policy is to advise clients the day of the tour if it is raining in the area and offer the tour for the following day, should clients want to postpone or change to a different tour. At the last stop we will enjoy the magnificent Rio Celeste Waterfall. After the national park we will stop for a picture with our giant ARBOL DE LA PAZ. Once on the way we will have a delicious costarican lunch, after we will hike trought the farm to check cacao, pineaple, corn, banana and many more plantations to finish enjoing a pristine pool in the Rio Celeste to swim. After this relaxing time we are ready to come back to La Fortuna.
