Drive through the Judean desert, and stop for a break at the Good Samaritan Inn. Then continue to Jericho – the oldest city in the world. See Zacheus's Sycamore and see the Mountain of Temptation, before traveling on to the most ancient part of Jericho.
What to Expect
After driving through the Judean desert, visitors will pay a short visit to the Good Samaritan Inn, a 16th century Ottoman building that once sheltered caravans of traders. It pays tribute to the New Testament story of the Good Samaritan, who helped Jesus on his return to Jerusalem.
The tour will then take a short stop then proceed to the ancient, fascinating city of Jericho, which some describe as the oldest still-inhabited city on earth. The history of this incredible city is as diverse as it is long – going back at least 12,000 years through countless cultures, languages, and empires.
Here, the tour stops at the famous Zacheus's Sycamore tree and for a view of the Mount of Temptation where, according to Christian writings, Jesus was tempted by the devil. The last stop is the Mount of Jericho, the oldest part of this ancient city, the oldest in the world.
