What People Are Saying About Teatro Massimo
My wife and I greatly enjoyed this tour on which we were the only members . Our guide, Maria, was very personable and friendly, and patiently answered all our questions about Palermo. We saw the wonderful highlights of central Palermo as advertised in the guide, and Maria even found time to take us to a coffee shop where my wife could purchase Italian coffee beans to take home. At the end of the tour, Maria took us to an apartment used by her tour company, to cook us an excellent Sicilian lunch (the meal was so good!). She also provided us with very good Sicilian wines to taste. In addition, Maria provided my wife with several tips on cooking Italian food, which she use at home. It was a most enjoyable morning and early afternoon in Palermo, thanks to Maria.
We had a fantastic time. Truly an extraordinary experience. We felt so much welcomed. Great conversations around delicious food and wine. A great evening with new friends. We would go back tomorrow if we could.
Our guide was personable and extremely knowledgeable about Palermo history, the churches and the theatres and the monuments - just wish I could remember it all - what a great day. We loved the markets and tasting some of the traditional Sicilian treats at the different shops. As it turned out we were a group of two, so we had a wonderful experience. The traditional Sicilian lunch in the chef's private home was delightful and we talked about cooking, and recipes, and wines, and cheeses. What a great hostess. It was much more than we had expected. Would recommend to anyone.
Our guide, Christina, was amazing! We overslept and she waited for us at our rendezvous point for almost an hour. We struggled with internet connections trying to get directions but she waited - unheard of in the states. When we did connect we found her to be warm, knowledgeable and engaging. A native Sicilian, she was able to answer all of our questions and expose us to a whole new culture. We saw many sights and learned about Saint Rosalie (the patron saint of Sicily) who saved the Sicilians from the black plague. We saw a church that was originally constructed before Christ and added to over 3 centuries. She took us to great food markets and finally cooked us an amazing authentic Sicilian pranza which included great wines and unique delicacies which we will remember forever. Do not miss this tour!!
Excellent walking tour of Palermo by an experienced, capable and friendly guide, followed by a home-made typical Sicilian lunch. All were outstanding
