Our group of 6 people experienced the Milford Sound Coach Tour & Lunch Cruise from Queenstown. This journey was a 12.5 hour journey, which we all enjoyed our journey by bus coach and our driver who had a lot of knowledge providing information about the scenery areas while traveling to the Milford Sounds. The two hour boat cruise was an enjoyable experience to explore the Milford Sounds. Traveling by boat cruise, to capture the beautiful scenery views of the lake, water falls, sea lions and dolphin's. I would recommend this day trip to everyone, to book the Milford sound Coach tour & Lunch Cruise from Queenstown. Because you can sit back and relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery views while traveling. It is a long day journey to travel, if you drive yourself there to Milford Sound.
It was great from start to finish. They are both very knowable about their Boat Faith, who is amazing, from where she actually came from in Scotland, and who owned her as well. It was wonderful to see around the whole of the Boat, even the engine room. Had a wonderful morning tea, the the coffee was real. The walk to the Hidden lake was great, it may of been raining but also very special, we even had fantails following us. This was the wonderful experience, and we both highly recommend this trip to anyone.
It was a very relaxing and organised trip delivering everything promised. The walk into the native forest was gorgeous and informative and arrived back to a very special morning tea. Nothing was a problem and both the skippers/guides had a lot of information which you could accept or not and a healthy sense of humour. The Faith is a gorgeous ship and sitting out the back was a fantastic experience. Thanks for the memories.
The Milford Sounds trip was the highlight of our holiday around the South Island. As its a long trip from Queenstown to Milford, we chose to take the coach-cruise-coach option - it was not only a break from driving (we were averaging 200+kms a day)- but with a driver/guide you know about what you're seeing, rather than whisking past the stunning scenery!
We thought, for us, the guide repeated herself and talked about herself too much. Just being chatty but at the beginning we thought she'd never stop. Very nice and helpful though. The lunch was good and buses comfortable and the scenery outstanding...also boat was great.
