Full description
Explore the Kakheti region, located in the eastern part of Georgia. Kakheti is home to some of the oldest human habitations in the entire Caucasus region, and archaeological discoveries have shown that wine has been produced here for several thousand years. Almost everywhere tourists are invited to have glass of red or white wine. Also, it’s possible to find Georgian sweets, “Churchkhela”, everywhere. Your first destination is Badiauri, where guests are welcome to taste delicious Georgian bread, cheese, and Chacha. Then go on a lovely trip to Signagi, one of the most beautiful towns in the area, with unusually peculiar architecture, charming houses, cobblestone streets, defensive walls, and spectacular views of the Caucasus range. Sighnaghi was nicknamed ‘the city of love’ for all the weddings it hosts. Sighnaghi is an incredibly romantic little town to explore on foot. Just 2 km from Signaghi, you will find Bodbe Monastery. The area around the monastery is covered by wonderful flowers, bushes, and vineyards. The last stop is Winery Khareba, which is Georgia’s largest wine cellar. Take a walking tour with a local guide to get more information about the wine and then taste it.

It would be huge mistake leaving Georgia without going in-depth in local winemaking technology, history while also trying out plenty of different types of wines. This tour is an excellent way of solving that problem. Becca was perfect guide for this tour being a good balance of fun and professional. Before this tour I was more of a beer guy, now I'm an expert on Georgian wines. Definitely recommend!

This is my second activity with Gamarjoba Tours and while the tour is well-planned and a lot of fun, I must repeat that the best thing about their tours are their guides. Our tour guide for the day, Beka, is responsible for training the other tour guides and is not usually conducting tours himself. But we could see why - he was extremely helpful, informative and fun. He had many stories about Georgia and encouraged us to get to know one another with ease. He spoke perfect English and kept us laughing and engaged. Everything was timed perfectly and he anticipated our needs well in advance. The lunch that was arranged was tasty and I really enjoyed the wine tasting. I wish I had booked a longer trip - I would have surely booked more tours with them! I definitely recommend it!
