What People Are Saying About Taormina

The landscape of Etna and the streets of Taormina are a must see.

The tour was delicious and our guide, excellent: friendly and very helpful. In order to better enjoy the Isola Bella bath and Taormina, maybe it'd have been better to depart earlier. 100% recommended.

A terrific education on the science of volcanos and an excellent lunch

Our tour group of 8 people (2 from each of France and Switzerland and a couple from Bucks County, PA) was very fortunate to have a tour guide, Salvatore, who was also a geologist. Salvatore taught us about the science of volcanos and the fascinating history of Mt. Etna, including its eruptions, the most recent in May 2016. We walked on some of the lower (inactive) craters of Mt Etna and went into a lava cave. We also saw some of the devastation of the most recent (2002) significant eruption of Mt Etna. While we spent only a relatively short time at the Alcantara Gorges, it was enough time to see and learn about this geological phenomenon. The Sicilian lunch, 3 courses, was quite good, as was the wine that accompanied the meal. While the wines were advertised as part of a wine tasting, your could really drink as much as you wished. The best part of the tour was really our guide, Salvatore. He was very personable and had a great sense of humor, and patiently answered all our questions

Guide was very engaging and knowledgable

Brilliant - guide was very knowledgable and gave us great overview of the science and history of volcano. Great day out.

Excellent day, well organised and a great guide

We travelled to Catania the nighr before having only booked the tour at the same time. Booking was confirmed instantly and then we received a personalised email from the guide. We were picked up from our hotel in the morning. The minibus was running late due to an accident in town but the guide phoned the hotel to let us know - great touch. After a couple of pickups we headed to Etna. When we got near our guide started to expain about the history of Etna. The information was really interesting and the guide spoke excellent English and was really friendly. When we got to the destination, we were giving the option of a short trek around one of the craters, of if we wanted to, we could take the cable car to as near to the top as we could get. Its worth noting that the cable car is extra but it is well worth the money! Once back down we had lunch before moving on to a honey farm for some quick tasting before a couple of hours as the gourgeous Taormina. Overall a wonderful trip.

Wonderful diverse day between Mt Etna and a winery visit.

Rosa our guide was knowledgeable, patient and fun. We had good weather on Mt Etna and we're able to explore the lava tube and walk on part of Etna. We also had a lovely lunch and a few wines at a local winery. We had eight people on our tour from four countries which added to our experience, as all were ready for a fun day.
